Apart from being an untalented game, not like AFL which is more talented and alot tougher, why do they always have to take swipes at us?

Look at what i came across

http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showthread.php?t=91445

Are they jealous of how popular our game has become internationally?

Im sick of them calling us "gayfl lovers" etc, lets get them back!

I just wish we could all get along.

Well im guessing it's probably because of how well our code has expanded reasonably quickly.

I couldn't get into that, coz you gotta log in, and I got MUCH better things to do with my time, but I can imagine. Just remember, their comments are indeed prompted by PURE jealousy. AFL gets crowds/TV ratings/radio ratings/revenue levels etc etc etc that their laughable code can only dream about in their absolute wildest fantasies. Deep down, they all know this, and they all know deep down their code is going nowhere whatsovever, while Footy slowly but constantly expands....

And I always laugh when I hear those knobheads call footy 'gay', when the so called 'scrum' is beyond doubt the gayest act performed on any sporting field anywhere in the world......

Yeah you have to become a member to register:rolleyes:

How much does that suck, i got told of it by some of my mates.

****ers

greco-roman wrestling, take yr bow.

and isn't the scrum a union thing not a league thing?

the only reason gets anything like the amount of coverage it does is because news limited own a bevy of clubs and its in their best interests to hype it.

Regardless of scrums, it's still gay! Andrew Johns lol, who's he anyway.

Wayne Carey would kick his arse in talent, along with Buckley.

RJ, a touch hypocritical given the League related threads that constantly do rounds on this forum.

Latest entry: "Take that NRL"

It works both ways, and is not to be taken seriously.

But, just like the code they follow, they do it without any class whatsoever. I was reading an Ugly League forum a coupla weeks ago, and some absolute tool said something like this, (and I quote) 'AFL is a c*nt of a sport, and anyone who follows it is a c*nt'(!!!)
Sheer class and intelligence......

Got to say thankyou to the guy that obviously spent a lot of time grabbing those photos . Hadn't seen any of them .

Look you can't really expect people that have grown up with RL to suddenly accept anthing else , especially when Australian Football has recently made great gains .

A friend from Slovakia is returning home for a holiday . He was blown away that such a game as Australian Football existed and is returned with a bunch of DVDs .Says soccer can learn from our game .

:)

Yeah, it's actually no wonder some of the hardcore Thugby fans are up in arms. I've just got back from a trip to Wollongong. I was actually totally blown away by the amount of live Footy there was on up there....I thought they may have had maybe 1 live swans game per week, and what little else they had on would be at 3am. But it seemed every time I turned around Footy was on Telly...they even had 'Before the Game' on.
Plus I was talkin to 2 blokes in a pub there. They were both saying they used to be hardcore League fans, but now both of them, and alot of their mates, are getting into Footy heavily, and would much rather watch it than League. They said the only they used to 'hate' footy was because everyone else 'told' them they had to hate it.
I'm certainly not naive enough to think it's 'taking over' up there, but it is absolutely in the sporting consciousness up there now more than ever...

I know what you mean fellas, i lived in Wollongong when i was young and i swear i was the only kid who was into footy, everyone else like soccer and RL. I used to cop the flak from other kids who said it was crap n stuff. They also got a about 1000 people to a club game between Kelly's Heros and Lockett's Pirates. I've been back a few times and the game has grown, seems to be more people playing the game and people love the swanies. Maybe the removal of the steelers hurt the RL present in the region.

Who cares about Rugby League? They can say what they like about AFL. Usually in words of one syllable (or less, if it was possible) :p

Stuff League, we're expanding into many countries right now at rapid pace!!

We had our World cup and it was a great success, not like League.

Our equivalent of The Ashes, aainst the Irish, is alot bigger then there boof head game.

Wait and see how big AFL is in Naru, and even Countries like Thailand, Indonesia, i see a number of expats making AFL big over there.

I always laugh at league scrum :thumbsu:

union is so much tougher, but league can be fun to watch, but still looks gay with everyone wearing metro-supertight-sexual clothing fit for gay's

They call us gay because our players have better legs then theres, and were not affraid to show it.

I wonder if any of them are bright enough to spot the irony of calling football 'GayFL', when Rugby League's biggest stronghold is the gay capital of the world.

plus there has been a gay NRL player I think, but no gay AFL players.

If the A-league grows and its season is longer- ie July-April or October-June, it could start challenging NRL in Sydney, possibly lowering the rights for TV and causing even more problems for NRL.
