Now let me clear this up. i am not a pro tanker. I have been behind the blues all season and have wanted us to win every game. But it has come down to this, and now i have to realise that as hard as it may be to turn on my beloved blues for one week, deep down in side i will be hoping melbourne win. The stakes are too high. We win we just get pick 3. We lose and we get pick 1 and 3. Kruezer and morton are potential superstars and to resist 'tanking' will be a brave call to be honest. Because once we have a player like Kruezer in our team it could well change everything. For example, in such a successfull team like west coast, if they were to miss cox for even one week it makes a huge difference, But they have seaby to back up who still would struggle and we r in an even worse situation because our number 1 ruckman in Ackland in my opinion is defintly not as good as seaby. Kruezer is likened to Dean Cox type player and he is someone we have been lacking since Justin Madden retired. So all though this week will be a torture i am hoping we go gallant in defeat and the rebuilding phrase will be used no more.

Agree totally. Would be absolutely shattered if we won this game. All that pain for nothing.

I have only been pro-tank since we lost the Essendon game but we must not try to win this. It would be the dumbest move in football history. Keep the same side and play for a 3-4 goal loss. People are kidding themselves if they believe we would be better off beating the Demons in round 22.

Well, I went and saw Kreuzer/Cotchin today out at Preston, and by god, Kreuzer was impressive. He will be very very hard to pass up in November, and I suspect, that should we secure the #1 selection, we won't.

What is the chance Cotchin will slip to 3? He is exactly what we need.

If he doesnt, there is still Morton and Masten who will be there, and I suspect that Masten is more the sort of mid that we want.

I feel sorry for Kreuzer if we pick him up. Anything less then a stellar first season and half the people on this board are going to eat him alive. Not that he'd read this shit anyway lol.

He could, but I doubt it. IMO, Richmond need to improve their KPP's and ruckman, so this could put Morton, Rance or even McEvoy up there for #2. That would be paying well over the top for McEvoy, and Rance/Morton will be top 10 selections anyway. If they were going to take someone other than Cotchin, they would take Morton, but lets face it, this is Richmond we are talking about, so who knows what they will do.

With just one more game to go and while I want a win, I am now in agreement with the tankers...

It will be madness to win this game based on the reports on Kreuzer...

Do you have any stats HBF?

No I don't mate, but he was just so impressive again today. I have seen him 2 weeks in a row now, and he has easily been the Knights best player in both. He's a ruckman, but he can also go forward, and look like he has been playing there for years. Also, when he is in the ruck, he basically plays like another midfielder.

As Gilly said today, if we draft Kreuzer, we wouldn't have to worry about drafting a ruckman for 10 years.

i hate to say it, but a win next sunday..... really isn't the best outcome for us is it? i hate being put into positions like this, but im afraid the AFL has put our club in one. Might as well reap as much rewards as we can......

This isn't designed to troll: What do you think would be the supporter response if Carlton were to defeat Melbourne next week and lose their priority pick?

Our ruck stocks are looking pretty good atm...

Mclaren gone, Ackland going to be playing in the reserves next year, Aisake, Hammo and Jacobs all coming through and Cloke coming back from a season out injured...

Having a ruck utility like Kreuzer might make some sense... 200cm ruck rover anyone?
