We're back in the hunt

The squabble has started the eagles want picks 1,3 and 20 plus kennedy but carlton won't budge on pick 1. I knew this was going to happen.:D:thumbsu:

Re: We're back in the hunt

pick 1 is needed to be traded but if WC get it, they will pick cotchin which is bad for us because i think we need a player like cotchin rather than a ruckman. i dont think kreuzer will become good. cotchin looks like a strong inside midfielder. i hope we recieve this gun!

Re: We're back in the hunt

Surely we are going to play this like a bid on Ebay.

Wait to see what the best bid Carlton is offering and then trump it before there is time for Carlton to give up pick 1. Then when the time runs out we will be left with the winning bid.

The only way we come unstuck in this scenario is if the two clubs work out a trade early on. But history shows that these things don't get done quickly as clubs always want to squeeze one last drop out of the deal.

I think in the end Carlton will agree to give up pick 1 though. As to who the Eagles would pick at 1, well that is anyone's guess.

Re: We're back in the hunt

I think you are dreaming, do you really want someone at your club that doesn't want to be there.

He made his selection, it will happen, accept it.

Of course he would want to go to our club, but he has chosen the Blues at the top because he knows how money hungry they are and he will get anything he wants there. I'd rather go to a club with a decent jumper and theme song with more supporters and twice as much atmosphere like the Tiges than get a few more dollars. MONEY HUNGRY PIGS

Its about Carlton paying top dollar for Judd.Weather its giving up pick 1 or paying over the odds in the PSD.
We have the power to force them into a corner.:thumbsu:

He knows he can earn 2+ million at the Blues once they give him all the crap under the table. Its not like the Blues have fantastic facilities at the moment like the 'Pies who he projected. its clear that money talks.

However WCE have to be pleased with the trade or Judd goes to the PSD.

Ever heard of Nick Stevens?,he also didn't want to a blue boy.

Re: We're back in the hunt

According to some west coast supporters on there flying high forum some west coast officials met some of our officials today:D

Re: We're back in the hunt

Question for you all regarding your salary cap.

If WCE and Carlton dont come to a deal and Judd goes into the PSD there is no way in the world Richmond would not pick him up.

Am I right?? Have you got enough cap room to pay him??

Yes we do and players are willing to take pay cuts to get him.

Re: We're back in the hunt

Richmond Retirements this year include: darren gaspar (who was a fairly big wage but was on the veterans list), knobel, hall and kingsley. Considering we are going to replace those 4 with rookies, and only kingsley was on minimum wage, that means we are going to save a bit there. Then there is the reduced contract of mark coughlan (perfomance based), nathan brown (performance based), and the future reduced contracts of kane johnson and joel bowden, who are both coming towards the end of their careers. And given that we were barely using up the minimum of our salary cap this year, I would think we easily have enough room to fit judd, regardless of increasing wages for deledio, tambling et al.

"....it will happen" will it?

WCE have to accept this offer from Carlton and Eagles want # 1 pick.

The plot thickens!

Nick Stevens didn't want to go to Carlton but now he loves the place.

That's what I thought. No offence but the clubs hasn't set the world on fire with its onfield performances, so apart from Richo, Johnson, Bowden, Simmions your not going to have alot of blokes on big dollars.

I've always had a soft spot for Richmond cause I've lived there for 31 years, so I would love to see him in yellow and black.

Screw Carlton, I hope he becomes a Tiger.

Re: We're back in the hunt

Its ironic that the team that bought there way into the mess there in now are doing all they can to buy there way out. Wonder how long it will be before they get caught cheating the cap again.
