I thought i would start a thread for cricket in the Albury wodonga area.
I have had a look at the Big cricket site and was unimpressed. Also I and three others, from my club, have had trouble activating our user names
and have not been able to respond and post on that site.
I am hoping to use this site for discussions on cricket in the area and not a forum to attack players and teams while hiding behind a computer screen. So no toot toots.
What do people think of the merger between the two competitions?
Junior criket seems to going from strength to strength, with some teams entering up too, four junior sides in the one age group.
Senior cricket, though seems to be struggling. In the district comp, over the last couple of years, we have lost one club (Eskdale). Got one who are fielding a below standard A-Grade (Howlong). But no B-Grade. And one,(my side) who after using mainly B-graders last year, can't field an A-Grade this year (Warriors). Some of the other teams do not seem to be as strong as previous years. My question is, are there two many sides and not enough players, playing the game anymore.

I think it would be great if not one thing would be mentioned about the DEDERANG cricket club as they seem to run that whole thread for themselves. They don't understand the concept of these forums which is to have a bit of friendly banter and a bit of fun eg. The Upper Murray thread. If people are out to vilify other players and get nasty they can piss off to the Big Cricket forum.:):):)
 
Sorry I was going to unlode but I better hed back to Big Cricket to do that. That BIG GUY'S CAN"T RUN bloke is certainly a controverceal carakter.

well the 2 comps mergering is a slowly working in favour of the provincal sides.they get all the umpires for a start!!!!! fancy a b'grade game without a umpire of any standard.heard a whisper that raiders have signed a you bowler by the name of kaye Izzle??? maybe a import???? also heard rumor that raiders c'grade will have a full side ready for the game against the warriors!!!! lookout meatballs !!! i think cricket is getting harder to find players for many reason.the only way to find players is to throw around a bit of neville!!!!! it's good to see some clubs rebuilding without neville and doing a great job on the field and off the field aswell. hey clyde's mullett how the coon dog holding up???

Welcome T.C, C.M & Reggie.
Yes the Upper Murray thread is a good one to use as an example. Some very funny comments were thrown around last season.
I know what you mean Reggie, re. money. But if clubs are going to fork it out, you can't blame the players for taking it. It will get like footy except the clubs won't be able to afford to do it.
This means the Warriors will have a big job a head of themselves, if they are going to get an A-grade team on the field next year.
Hopefully some of our off field plans come to fruition in the next couple of weeks and it may help to make things easier, to recruit, down the track.

You should get together with the Raiders boys and find a sponsor,
so you can play for a trophy. The First sport cup, Stump plate or the
Klepiak trifecta Jug. This would add a bit spice to the game.
I know one player who would lift another 50% to get his hand on another trophy.:D

that would be a good idea:D the klepi jug would depend on race 5 or 6 that day!!!!! i can see one player wearing new gloves and who would bowl over the line but having no luck on that day!!!!

wats the date that we play u guys, hope meatballs is on his game that day he loves a challange. how much of a loss will wazza b now that he is moving to cairns. can u also make sure matty young is back in the thirds by time we play u so he can shake my hand after i make a ton...... and yes tommy kizzle is up and fireing the sex god is out the tab for the first time in years.

have heard whispers about wazza leaving...it's hard to say has they have been winning without him...but he has been doing alot around the club when not playing!!!! if he goes doesn't leave to many bandi boy's left!!! not sure of date of the klepi jug match. i saw the kizzle down the street(out of the tab) hey is keen as ever....looking to impress selectors for a higher grade game:pwhat's the luge upto in the 3rd's??? knee still a bit dodgy????? youny not much chance to play c grade if wazza goes.they need yabby jeans for his pace. best of luck to all this weekend :cool: plus the 250 is mine.....:eek:

You're right probably half a dozen Bandy Boys remaining but wouldn't count Waz out for finals even if he moves.

Do you think CAW should think outside the square and bring in a couple more grades and let teams nominate which grade they want to play in. They could have a grading committee, so the teams are playing against teams of their own ability. In B-grade this year we have played a side that would probably struggle against most C-grade sides.
The C-Grade comp. seems to be a hit and miss affair this season. Not all teams play each other once. WTF!! I was at a league meeting, a week or two before the season and they were still arguing about the format of C-Grade then.
What do others think?

The big game is Dec. 8th at Victory primary.

Unlike you and me Reggie the big Coon dog didn't present himself in peak physical condition for Round 1 and pulled a thigh first ball he bowled.Back this week though and is raring to go.His pace at the moment reminds me of a young Jason Kirk.

Good idea 80's there is too much of a gap between the top and bottom sides in most grades they should even it out

it's alright big guy i'll buy you a beer after you get the pizza's...but make sure the silverback chips in more then a gold coin:D:D the kizzle is back and bowling well i see.if all the x warriors play that would make it 5 playing for raiders is that right?????

The Kizzle told me that him and the Silverback are waiting to give you guys a thorough touch up on Dec. 8. All x-warriors are getting dropped down- Kizzle , Superwog, Silverback, Luge, Joe Bob, Hodgy and Scooter. They are playing for The Silverback Cup (really just a qtr. of chicken and chips from Chicken Stop):D:D:D Should be a great day though!

Looking forward to another round of CAW cricket, this week end.
Hang on, no cricket for the lower grades and only one game in three weeks.
I will have to thank CAW for looking after my aging body.
Might even be a show for next season, at this rate.

You can't blame CAW for the washout the other week & if your Club had an A Grade team you would be playing this week. You need to play regularly or your body might shut down.

The word is WWW C Grade will let their bats & ball do the talking. Too many bigheads amongst the ex Warriors at Raiders. You talk the talk but can you walk the walk?

hey super wog ease up.............the silverback is struggling we are more worried about yourself and t.kizzle look after being belted for six!!!!!!! so is the drought broken big???or did certain players mow your lawns again!!! a bit of touchy feely to much wandering hands!!!!! it will be a big pre match slugging match at a certain players party the week before.:D:D and don't forget to bring your welding goggles super wog:D
