Its 1 vs 2 as Geelong look to leap their final hurdle towards the top. That hurdle however happens to look more like a mountain in the form of the mighty East Side Hawks.
A massive clash in store at the House of Gumby with Geelong winning their last 4 after dropping the first 2 games of the season. East Side had to work hard for their victory against the Furies last week escaping with a 2 point victory.
Geelongs forward line is in great form kicking 647 points (107.8 avg) in 6 games this season. Gumbies FF HCM leads the SFA league with 22 majors this season. East Side's own FF, YOTC has bagged 17 from 6 games himself. East Sides defence is the 2nd best in the league by just 4 points from fellow rivals Furies conceding just 574 points (95.6 avg). Will be interesting to see which line cracks first under the pressure this game is sure to produce.
The engine room is where this match will be decided. Every club so far has felt the Hawks ferocious tackling this season and the Gumbys wont be spared that same fate. East Side skipper Wally & superstar ruck rover Big Man are #2 and #3 in the top 5 for tackles whilst ruckman Kegs44 is #8. Although Geelong could state the same case as they also have 3 of their players in the top 10 for tackles, MmmkMrMackie, Metallica Man and Grantyc77. A exciting contest in itself the winners of this contest will go a long way to helping thier side win.
Support cast for each side will have plenty to say in the outcome of the match if each teams superstars are nullified. From Geelong, Renegade, Nick Savo and Fugsy can all cause damage if not given proper attention. The same must be said of Keyser Soze, Westy07 and Hodge2Franklin of the Hawks. One things for certain whoever stops running first will be the loser in this contest.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
