M&E Posting Guidelines *including how and when to post spoilers*

The Golden Rules:

*Torrents: Direct links to torrent files or torrent sites is forbidden on this site. red cards for those who do it.

*Spoilers for TV programs: A spoiler is something that comes from watching or reading about an episode shown in the US but not here. These can be posted ONLY in:

• Threads with the name of the program and *spoiler* in the title, or
• In other threads using spoiler tags i.e. [ spoiler ]text you want to be hidden[ /spoiler ] - (take out the gaps for the tags to work).
• Those posting spoilers in threads not designated as spoiler threads will get infractions (red cards) and possible banning from this board.
• Reporting an actor leaving a show is not a spoiler, saying a character gets killed is. (this does not apply to reality TV)
• Reporting a contestant has been voted out of a reality program before that result program has aired is a spoiler
• Users from non-Sydney time zones, use your head and don't go into threads about shows on that night for the short time between when they air in Sydney/Melbourne and when they air where you are. Once it has aired in Sydney and Melbourne it has aired on Australian TV

Spoilers for Cinema:

• Spoilers of movies just released to Australian cinema is only allowed in designated spoiler threads for the first month of its release. Any spoilers posted in other threads may incur an infraction. This is so you don't spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet.
• Spoilers posted about movies not yet released to Australian Cinemas but already released O/S is not allowed but reviews and trailers may be discussed as long as plot lines are not given away.
• Spoilers can be posted in threads with the name of the program and *spoiler* in the title, or
• In other threads using spoiler tags i.e. [ spoiler ]text you want to be hidden [ /spoiler ] - (take out the gaps for the tags to work)
• Those posting spoilers in threads not designated as spoiler threads will get infractions (red cards) and possible banning from this board.

* No personal abuse eg idiot, *, etc

* Post defamatory comments about media personalities and other posters at your own risk. Big Footy bares no legal responsibility for your comments and may be forced under court order to reveal your identity and all the posts you have made that are relevant to the case if any person wishes to pursue legal action over libellous or defamatory remarks posted in this board. Remember just because we may have deleted your post doesn't mean it no longer exists. Moderators will endeavour to delete any such comments as they are found before things get out of hand but it would be helpful if anyone that finds a comment that is defamatory or libellous to please use the report button to inform us of it quickly. Posters who post defamatory or libellous remarks will get infractions and maybe even banned from BF after the site admins have reviewed the post/s in question.

* PG rating on this board

* Spamming is not tolerated

* No swear filter evasion

* Trolling in any form will land you an infraction

* New posters are always welcome

* Differences of opinion are perfectly fine.

* Regular posters are not immune from infractions (yellow & red cards) on this board

* The moderators aren't robots and don't necessarily read every post. If you see something that you take offence with or is a breach of the forum rules - use the report post button and someone will attend to it.

*Saying you were only joking after you have been infracted = bad luck. If you are not sure and don't make it clear, then don't post it.


Once more, if you are not sure ...don't post it. Or at the very least ask a moderator

It is your responsibility to know and abide by these rules. Playing the "I didn't know the rules" card is NOT an excuse.
