seriously though, selwood by a street.

he is a deadset superstar. there is daylight between him and the rest. thats saying something since cotchin is a very good player.
 
Selwood by a long way. Good old fashioned toughness although the others are still very good exept Pendleburry, he has to put his head over the ball and not be scared.

qft i can see pendlebury having this criticism over him for the rest of his career but i still think he'll be a great player but will always be known as a bit soft.

from the list given, atm selwood is in a league of his own. i think by the time they al hang up the boots, gibbs will have the best career.

by the end of their careers:
1-gibbs
2-selwood
3-cotchin
4-palmer
5-pendlebury

all will be stars of their respective clubs, the first 3 could potentially be legends of the game.

Pendles, Selwood, Palmer and Cotchin are all far better than Gibbs.

I don't care what people think, I care about performances.

At the moment I would have to say that Selwood is a more effective player. Gibbs is very and sets up but as yet leaves too many questions unanswered.
Palmer and Cotchin have shown that they can play good hard football and I think in time will prove to be excellent palyers.
Pendlebury was a surprise last year as a wingman to head over the ball players. He plays too wide too often to be compared to these guys.
Another they may be considered is Craig Bird at Sydney. Very hard, good skills and very cool under the pump.

At the end of the day I like blokes who stick their head over the ball.

He only spent the first half tagging Shaw.........no fun after that.:D May as well go and win some footy and get away from Shaw crying on his jumper.
I'll bet Bryce wishes his unlce was in the media and could write nasty things about the coach when he isn't playing well..........actually on second thoughts maybe not.:thumbsu:

Sorry "sweetness" but Gibbs is a consistent 4 Q player who not only picks up plenty of the ball and uses it well, but actually has a defensive game..........hence putting him light years ahead of Pendles and Thomas.

FWIW, I think Cotchin will probably be better than all of these guys, but probably needs a full pre-season and another 30 odd games to show us a bit more.
Needs to work on the defensive side of his game a bit too. Learning from N Brown isn't always such a good thing.

Selwood easily the best atm, but really think Cotchin in a couple of years will be as good or most likely better than Selwood, cant ignore talent like that ;)
 
Tough one as all will be great players.

Selwood is definately the best at the moment, but he is playing in a super side and that can make it easier on younger players.

I have said since day 1, that Gibbs will be the next Buckley. I think he has more upside than the others cause of his height and versatility. Means he like Hird or Buckley can play anywhere on the field.

Cotchin will be the best midfielder, has better skills than Palmer.

Pendles is good but will not be in same league as the others by careers end.

Starting with Gibbs, I can't believe people still bag him out lol. It says more about the poster than it does about the player :eek:
