Official Match Thread Round 1: Fighting Furies vs Mount Buller Demons @ Punt Road (26-27/7)

Welcome to Punt Road, home of the Fighting Furies, for its opening clash of the season against the Mt Buller Demons.

This match sees last years premiers against the Demons, who finished fifth.

The Furies didn't do much recruiting over the Off-Season, not targeting any big name players, but managed to recruit youthful players such as dyl_tigerman, tigers4Premiers and benchwarmer77 to fill the void of rota69, who left for the Gumbies, and other stars who have left the competition.

The Demons have kept on focusing on youth, and have gained rota69, who gives them a lot of class, with the premiership player expected to dominate games for the Demons. But in a worrying sign, they have lost what experienced players they have been building, such as DTT and V_Townsend, and look likely to go down before they go up.

It should be a good game, with both teams eager to win the first game, but the Furies just look too good.

Teams in 9PM AEST Friday.

Games up Saturday/Sunday.

And rota's on the bench I see, get him in the thick of it quick smart because:
A) We want to give him stick.
B) He'll leave your club if he sits on the pine for more than a game.

Rota leaves the premiership team to scrape into the demons side. Must be having second thoughts.

Should be a cracker game to blow out the cobwebs of one of the greatest off season binges ever.

Expect a solid Furies performance, not even getting out of first gear.

BigPapa will be leading the coleman after the game, as I keep ramming it into the forwards.
