After a season out of the game the AFL All Stars head to Subiaco to encounter a rather different Wonders team to that which dissappointed fans at the end of the last season, falling away failing to make the finals despite winning more games than a team that did. The Wonders set about their pre-season as early as any and despite losing ruckman Doggiesin08, utility Lovett Lover 13 and full-back FiveStrings the Wonders have done well to get a full team and an extremely high posting one at that.

The Wonders will again be headed by controversial captain Kerrby with ScottyD and Rick18 providing quality leadership assistance. Other key players are demanding full-forward Team Mo', ssfc0203, Snag Breac, Peterss, croweater41 and new ruckman Eggman who looks set to have an interesting first round encounter with the big fish Paul Salmon. Many eyes will be keenly focused on the SFA debut of the Wonders rookie centre-half-forward who has created quite a stir over the off-season.

The All Stars come back with as many big names as ever. From Silvagni to Roos, Matera, Williams, Hird, Ablett, Carey and Lockett, the team looks all class. The midfield looks to be the key to the the All Star's hopes this season while they will need to make sure oppositions cannot exploit their tall forward line containing Richardson, Dunstall, Lockett, Ablett and Carey.

PREDICTION: The Wonders, but only just.

Peterss: Bring on the real stuff

Gun West Coast Wonders Midfielder and deputy vice captain Peterss today faced a packed press conference at Subiaco Oval as the Wonders fine tune preperations for their season opener at Subiaco Oval this weekend against the AFL All Stars.

"We have been training hard all off-season and have had good results which is always a good sign but the real deal starts this weekend and everything we have worked on in the off-season will count for nothing if we cant get off to a winning start this weekend against the All Stars. We are all pumped up for the first bounce of the ball to get the real season underway and will be increasing our workload at training this week to make sure we are more then 100% ready for this weekend. We have a quality team this season and we are looking forward to a great season but we cant take any team lightly in this competition but we will be very very dissapointed if we cant get off to a winning start this weekend as we will then beleive our pre-season has been a waste as every team wants to get off to a winning start"

"On a side note i urge all supporters and members of the Wonders to get into the ground early and get behind the boys as we will be out in the middle warming up very early on so some early support would be fantastic. I also want to thank all our sponsors and members who are with us again this season without you we wouldnt be here so everyone at the club appreciates your support"

The All Stars line up:

B: ANDREW BEWS, STEPHEN SILVAGNI, GAVIN WANGANEEN

HB: JOHN WORSFOLD, PAUL ROOS, GAVIN BROWN

C: PETER MATERA, GREG WILLIAMS, JAMES HIRD

HF: MATTHEW RICHARDSON, WANYE CAREY, PETER DAICOS

FF: GARY ABLETT, TONY LOCKETT, JASON DUNSTALL

RUCK: PAUL SALMON, DARREN JARMAN, ROBERT HARVEY

INT: JIM STYNES, TONY LIBERATORE

EMERG: CHRIS GRANT, NATHAN BUCKLEY, GLEN ARCHER

COACH: MALCOLM BLIGHT

AFL All-Stars PFFFT

Good to see you round EKA, could have used your influence at certain points in the off season :thumbsu:

hahahahahaha sometimes it's best to say nothing at all.

"You say it best, when you say nothing at all"

Wow, that was compeltely irrelevant...

One of the few remaining Wonders who isn't mocked by the rest of the comp.

*Cough*
