Last week emergencies were Meyer, Tivs and Hyde !!!!!
 
Good to see no change. Hopefully they play Moore on Mooney, he killed thursfield last time.Abit to strong for him at this stage of hes developement.

I would like to see the following matchups in the Cats forward line:
Moore vs Mooney
McGuane vs Lonergan
Thursfield vs S.Johnson
Bowden vs Gamble
Newman vs Stokes
McMahon vs Varcoe

I second that. Varcoe hunts on the forward line and feels he has to tackle everything in sight. This should leave space for Jordy to run. I see Gamble as the dangerman and Bowdo should snuff him out. Johnsons 'turning circle' might be a bit tight for Thursty but he's worth a try and don't be surprised to see Tambo line up on Stokes.

Thursty has been really on and off this year and since his comeback he has looked out of depth. Maybe putting on a less expirenced player like Gamble might help him get some confidence back

Yeah agreed. The other 5 look good, but Varcoe's the kind of player that will run riot on us, especially on McMahon. Tambling's quick and in good form, so hopefully he can shut Varcoe down as well as providing a fair bit of run out of defence.
 
good to see no change, although edwards is probably slightly lucky - thought he needed a run at coburg

hopefully meyer has a blinder for coburg and he can come in for him the following week:thumbsu:

Newman on Stokes or Varcoe
Bowden on Gamble

I think we match up well in that area.
 
Dont think Morton has anything to worry about I think he has shown he is a needed entity in our side, he has the ability to change the complexion of a match.

Danny Meyer deserves a run if he continues his form but you need to be realistic he would be coming in for Edwards/Jackson certainly not Morton.
 
Im worried about our ability to match up on the cats fwds, we are 2 matchups short, Gamble is a very talented player and this is the type of game where he can really expose us.

-Moore on Mooney, he's the only one with strength, maybe Schulz but dont think schulz can play tight enough.

-McGuane on Johnson, Moore to him if Johnson cuts loose. McGuane is very agile and plays hard, I'd give him a go as hes a negator and will stick to the task.

-Thursfield on Lonergan

-Tambling on Stokes

-Newman on Varcoe

what happens when Ottens goes fwd, we'll get seriously stretched by this fwd line.
 
Even though I am an opposition supporter I am very interested in this game and am hoping for a good showing from the Young Tigers.

As for defensive matchups that I would have:

Moore vs Johnson
Thursfield to get first crack at Mooney
McGuane on Lonergan
Tambling on Varcoe
One of Newman/McMahon on Stokes.
I would also perhaps chuck Daniel Jackson on Gamble. Has the size, strength and speed to go with Gambo. Plus I think that Bowden has more worth to the Tigers up forward at this present time.

I think the Tigers backline is in good shape for this match. They have a lot of versatility in their matchups on the Cats forwards as they seem to have a number of options for each of the Cats forwards.
