The equestrian commentator

meh. Hes repeated the exact same lines every horse.

'ohhh hes rattled the bamboo'
'check out the 2 steps in between the treble'
'now the avocado'
'3 strides in between the rainbow then 6 to finish'

Enthusiasm good though.

Speaking of commentators, is it just me or is Christopher Lee commentating the archery? Seriously next time it's on have a listen, sounds exactly like him.

Simon Marshall is 7's racing commentator for their big events like the spring racing carnival ie Melbourne cup and other stuff they do. He is barracking a treat. "need the German to knock a rail down." I'm not a racing man but I always enjoyed his stiff on the big carnivals that 7 broadcast.

I haven't heard Wilko do a Wilko yet. Sort of miss that plumby Lucinda Green.

Best equestrian commentator was the late George Grljusich . I remember his brilliant call on the ABC of Matt Ryan on Kiber Tic Toc in Barcelona to win double gold. Not quiet as biased as Marshall or him calling a West Coast game, but George for all his boofishness was a very good broadcaster he used to call the trots. I miss him an Benny calling the boxing. I heard him say he had broadcast 39 sports!

Hah, just said "hip and shoulder with the front legs."

Yeh Marshall is always good value on the mic, usually gives good tips at the Adelaide races as well.

It ain't over for the night sports fan.

There still is the individual event jumps to go tonight with 25 to jump. These are the last 8 jumpers who still have a medal chance including 3 Aussies.

Marshall will barracking for those Germans, Yanks and Brits to knock down a few rails.:thumbsu:

Why do they count the team dressage and cross country but not the team jumping?

Is the individual jumping significantly harder or something to provide more differentiation between riders?
