Clearly Nick Stevens is now far superior to Nick Dal Santo
Or should I say Nick Dal Soft C$$k ...
Seriously I've felt for years Dal Santo has been grossly overrated, and Carlton really missed Stevo's run and drive/dash last year after he got that heavy back complaint ..
Based on this years form, there is no doubt Stevens is an elite midfielder of the AFL, and I don't believe that is the case any longer for Dal Santo ...
Dal Santo was pathetic, insipid and unaccountable against Collingwood last week ..
His defensive aspect to his game is practically 'non-existant' ...
Very overated by Stains fans is Dal Santo ...
I think 14 over clubs right would take Stevens over Dal Santo right now in a heartbeat ..

You do realise he has been really sick for the last 3 weeks?

Stevens is far more damaging than Dal Santo. Both have terrific skills, but Stevo runs and carries the ball and is significantly more penetrating going forward.

Sickness blamed for Dal Santo's lethargy
August 12, 2008
ST KILDA coach Ross Lyon has defended Nick Dal Santo's effort against Collingwood, saying the midfielder was placed on the half-back flank as he was recovering from tonsillitis.
"Against West Coast he went in with tonsillitis, lost five kilos and still hadn't put it on against Port and was lethargic," Lyon said.
"We put him on half-back to take pressure off him. He was all right against Port but we got some feedback at training … it wasn't a hard session but he rode it really hard and his output was down.
"He went in against Collingwood and he was still lethargic and looked really horrible for three quarters. But he's been really crook. When he's up and about we're a different team."

I'm not making any excuse for his shit performances earlier in the year, but surely you have to cut him a bit of slack for his recent games.

The only thing Lyon has achieved by playing him the last 3 weeks, is Dal copping an absolute barrage of abuse and criticisim from supporters, media and most importantly BigFooty.

If you take the field, you've got to be considered 100% fit. If he wasn't well he shouldn't have been selected.

I know he shouldn't have been selected. Birss should have been selected. But I'm not on the selection panel am I?
Or am I

Birss I'd rather a five kilo less Dal Santo.

Birss has been solid in his games this year, performing well in the seconds and so deserved a callup for a match or two.
