The Mt. Buller Demons head down to the house of Gumby hoping to kickstart their season into life with a win. They have been starting games well have the Demons but just can’t seem to finish them off. The Gumbies will know about the Dees last quarter fade-outs and this will be enough to ensure they don’t stop running under any circumstances. Both teams will not be too happy with their start to the season and will be looking to get a much needed win under their belt.
Players to Watch
The Gumbies recruited heavily during the off-season and one of their biggest finds was youngster Young Gun #6. Although he is still yet to play five games for the Gumbies he is already one of their most high profile players and will be looking to continue his good form. The Gumbies side has a good mix of youth and experience with Diablo14, Portentous and Hairy Cat Mooney being the experience of the side. All three will be hoping for big games which should lift their young and inexperienced teammates. The Dees side has been disappointing so far this season but still look good on paper. The side is led by stalwarts EBIAC and Tarkyn 24 and both are having very respectable seasons to date. The standout Dee this year, however, has been magpiegirl 13. Aswell as racking up the disposals, MG13 is the second highest goalscorer for the Dees. She is having a ripper season and would be a big chance for the Mobb medal if the votes were counted now. The Dees, however will be looking for some other members of the team to put their hand up and help out MG as she can’t do it all herself.
Prediction: Gumbies to run away with it in the last due to home-ground advantage and win by 23.
Teams in 9 PM AEST Friday.
