Round one of this season's state of origin competition starts with a hotly contested clash between the South Australians and the Victorians. Both teams will be desperate to get over the line in one of the most bitter rivalries in history.
South Australia, led by big men Toots Hibbert and loopy_cam we're the winners of last seasons comp after being very underrated throughout. This time, the other states will be more wary of the strength of the South Aussies and this will make it much harder for them to go back2back. It's hard to see why then men from the south are so underrated with the quality of players in their line-up. Their midfield posseses some of the most quality players in the league including the experienced fantastic crows, the aggresive MannumPower and one of the favourites for the Mobb medal Portentous. Their forwardline also holds alot of talent with co-captain loopy_cam being very ably assisted by key forwards Mad dog and Groove. And of course, the defence cannot go unmentioned with the other co-captain Toots Hibbert leading a defence which will be very hard to break down.
Victoria head to Adelaide with a very strong squad. They are lead by young gun doggiesin08 and veteran Fred. The Victorian Side is full of stars with key players such as Hawks1523 and Rick18 leading a quality midfield outfit that will be tough for the SA boys to compete with. But it is not only the midfield which is full of stars for the Vics as there are key players all over the park. Players such as ScottyD, Jolldo87 and Equus just ooze class and can turn the game in a matter of minutes. The Victorian selectors will have a very hard time fitting this galaxy of stars into their line-up with some big names sure to miss out.
