Major Apologies
I have made a mistake, i forgot to save the commentary file before running the DE vs Razors game and so have no copy of it. I have the scores and stats though. I am very sorry.

(Mobbers, is there anyway of getting it? when i run the games it asks if i want a commentary file, i have caps lock on and press y, it runs the game but there are no commentary files to be found, just been saving the com file as a notepad file, is there a better way?)

Hey eka, don't stress too much. We got the results of the game and all, so if you can't find the rest don't worry.

Sorry EKA the commentary file was an add-on and doesn't create an independent file, its just that one called COMMFILE.DAT (or .TXT or whatever it is), and the next match will over-write it.

Don't stress too much ... I did that once here, too. Everybody was able to live with it!

But hmm let me see if I can make it have an individual file name from now on. Will take a while.

ok EKA follow these instructions :

open the game.bas file (using notepad)

search out the line numbers 6910 and 6920 (they will be adjacent)

between them, add two new lines :
commfile$ = LEFT$(Team$(1), 3) + LEFT$(Team$(2), 3) + RIGHT$(DATE$, 2) + "." + RD$ +"c"
and
SHELL "copy commfile.txt "+commfile$

just copy the below if you want (it includes the two lines this is going in between) :
6910 WG$ = LEFT$(Team$(1), 3) + LEFT$(Team$(2), 3) + RIGHT$(DATE$, 2) + "." + RD$ + LEFT$(SR$, 1)
commfile$ = LEFT$(Team$(1), 3) + LEFT$(Team$(2), 3) + RIGHT$(DATE$, 2) + "." + RD$ +"c"
SHELL "copy commfile.txt "+commfile$
6920 OPEN "O", #3, "DATA\LASTGAME.NME"

This will cause the commfile.txt file to be copied at end of match (when the annoying sound happens) into a new file using the following syntax :
{first 3 letters of home team}{first 3 letters or away team}{last 2 digits of year}.{round number}{"c" (for commentary)}

EG Round 4 2003 v Bigtown and Littletown would create comm file biglit03.04c.

(not perfect but its the same style as for the game stats and no probs as long as no two teams in league have same first 3 letters!).

The original commfile.txt will remain, until overwritten by next game.

(remind me to update my master copy when I get home from ... err ... HOME ... I'm HOME ... of course I'd never keep my homemade games source code at work nor would I sit back and analyse and update them at work so therefore I must be HOME yeah yes that's where I am nice fuzzy home ...)
