This article has been covered a little in the buddy threads of the respective players, but thought it deserves its own thread.

Fantastic article to read.

Congratulations once again to Jeffy, Ellard and White on gaining promotion to the senior list for season 2011 and beyond.

Each and every one of them has a fantastic story behind their recruitment, and they have all shown enough to suggest that they have what it takes to play for a number of years at senior level for the Carlton Football Club.

After a few players have, over the past month or so, shown themselves as individuals not willing to put in the hard yards required to represent our great club, it is great to see some of the younger players will bust a gut trying to make a name for themselves and do everything they can to ensure they make it in the big league.

Looking forward to seeing what the 3 boys can offer us next season and beyond. I've got a feeling we'll be seeing plenty of all 3 in Navy Blue in the years to come.

Ellard is the real story there. He was gone for all money half way through the year. They wouldn't play him and eventually could not ignore him, and then he played out of his skin right off the bat so they could not drop him. He was literally one so-so game away from being delisted.

Hats off to wablues own. ;)

Great article on the boys and Dave Ellard in particular. I for one was very unsure as to whether he had the goods to stay at the club but his committment and focus has got him through.:thumbsu:

Looking forward to watching all three in the seniors next year and very interested in seeing how Simon White goes and where he plays with an interesting reference to his forward line credentials.

I became well and truly fed up with guns and his Ellard rants and endless pump-ups. Goes to show he was right all along - the young man has what it takes and if you don't give him a go he just refuses to quit until you do. Brilliant stuff and apologies to guns for doubting his judgement. Ouch. :thumbsu:

Ellard is a great example of why you should make the most of every opportunity.

Agreed + having passion and great work ethic. I can remember when Chris Judd first came to the club, he spoke highly of Ellard. :thumbsu:

Great to hear about White there. We've all been talking about adding a hit up HF to our side and I suspect a few of us have forgotten what White showed last year.

Between him, Lucas and Kreuzer coming back in, our side takes on a completely different look.

Pretty sure it was Joseph that Juddy talked up.

Still not quite sure i find that more compelling than where Jeffy has come from in a short 2 years. Shoeless, with barely any food to eat and living in a car.

Well done to all 3 boys! :thumbsu:

Joseph was the person from the rookie list that Juddy thought, at the time, would be first to crack the 22. But he did also mention that Ellard was amongst, if not was himself, the hardest trainers and should be pushing for a spot on the senior list

White - I really like him and those comments Rogers made about him get me very excited. I see him as a defender though and would like to see him there at the start of the year. Not sure that he is tall enough to play KP but he reads the play well, has a nice kick and good closing speed. Needs to work on his one on one defending though.

Garlett - nuff said, kids a freaking gun!

Ellard - I have complete admiration for this bloke, the way he has worked to get an opportunity and the fact that he has taken it and turned it into a place on the senior list is just fantastic. If only some of how more talented blokes had this kind of attitude. That's how you get Chris Judd's!

It's a credit to him.

I thought White was the pick of the new players we tried down back - and he wasnt too shoddy up forward either. Looking for a big season from him.

Ellard was a revelation, can only improve.

A nice infusion of youth, with garlett and lucas as well. Kreuzer to come back as well. Im expecting good things this year.

This is just as good as anything that has happened this season. Simon White showed heaps in his games, and have big faith in him. What can you say about Jeffrey Garlett, could end up being a premier small forward. And David Ellard is a testament to what hard work and dedication can do. Congrats to all three
