From my understanding LuxBet and Dick Smith hasn't renewed theirs. I am just wondering who the clubs two main sponsers are or how the progress is going of finding one. It is becoming a bit of a concern.
 
My understanding is that both have signed lower sponsorship agreements than they have in previous years and we are looking to replace both. We are yet to do this, however.
 
Phil A is spot on. Process is being worked through for new major sponsors. New media sleeve sponsor is in. Dick Smith still involved with the foundation and the Central Aust. program.

It was telling that at the launch last week, Browny only mentioned KooGa and Lite'n'Easy as our two current sponsors.

I can only assume Luxbet and Dick Smith are not Team sponsors.
 
They have down graded and are no longer majors. Lite'n'Easy still involved as coach sponsor and media polo. Brisbane based packaging company also signed on as media polo sleeve sponsor. Major sponsor process being worked through.

Not wanting to have a dig at you Kiwi but "process being worked through" could mean anything from still trying to find a major sponsor through to deciding when to announce the sponsorship.

Yes I was being a tad cryptic. Apologies. Our Commercial Ops guys are very thorough. I believe that the opportunities are being worked through and news will be forthcoming hopefully in the not too distant future.

These things take time with negotiation,value proposition, bonus clauses, image rights, AFL vetting and approval. Luxbet took ages due to AFL vetting, gaming regulation, and details re absence of signage on Little League jumpers etc to protect the image. So it is a process that is involved. Apologies I can't be more detailed.

Yeah, I understand the issues well enough so no drama, just wanted to highlight your skill of saying not much when seemingly saying a lot. You should run for our board :)

But as for Luxbet, my recollection is that Sportsbet had agreed to sponsor us then the AFL jumped in and stopped it from happening. The AFL then pushed Luxbet towards us who matched Sportsbet's deal and it was wrapped up very quickly considering it was a main sponsor.

Yes. IASbet Ltd offered. They were only an accredited AFL gaming entity for 3 months. To meet the AFL sponsor criteria, you had to be accredited for 12 months. Luxbet, through their TAB ownership, met the criteria and came to the party.
IAS were a publicly listed company subsequently taken over by SportsBet via PaddyPower.

I intorduced IAS to RFC, so was pretty saddened that they didn't get up.

Are they eligable now Kiwi? seeming that its been 2 years since Luxbet joined!
Surely the club would rather a Sportsbet Major sponsor than Luxbet minor sponsor wouldnt they? or is there some legallities behind it that would prevent this from ever happening?
 
Seem talk on other forums that JB Hi Fi are a shot.
If they came on and we got member discounts, that would so so much damage to my bank account.
 
Are the AFL bending over backwards for the Giants by allowing them to have a rival car company in Skoda as major sponsors when they have already have Toyota? Perhaps we should have knocked on the door of Holden or should really push hard for Nissan to step up.

Yes they are. Management has totally changed though given the Irish Paddy Power influence. The then company secretary and CFO who's a mate of mine and mad tiger, has now moved on to another company. I think Luxbet have a sunset close that may disqualify a competitor replacing them.
Toyota must be getting pretty PO'ed with the AFL if Skoda jump on board as a major at GWS. Toyota are protected unless an existing relationship existed (Geelong). Maximum involvement a car company can have is the shorts. Toyota must be exiting in 2011 if GWS have Skoda as a major.

I have been on a Board sub-committee until Feb 2010 when I moved to NZ. I've worked with the current board and they're all great, particularly Garry, Rob D, Peggy H and John. Phil A is also a great guy and fellow RE member. I'll sit on the fence on this one as I like them all!

Am in Mumbai currently and in the local news today, 2 North Indian Tigers died overnight. Leaves only 138 left apparently. No omens I trust.

Does anyone know of any actual talks with anyone? I heard that Richmond were talking to some big company. Which would be great for the tigers. I would love to see a sponser announced.
I also think we have some, because on the tigers website, the pictures of Kooga's new jumpers, the spot where sponsers go have been clearly photoshoped. Maybe they made them with the Dick Smith logo there, or they are hiding some sponsers. if there hiding it, there doign a bloody good job of it :D

it would follow the theme with our colours
i still think we need a real big name sponsor, like mars to carlton, but in saying that id be happy with jb
