Baghdad Bombers vs Mount Buller Demons
This is the first of three important games in round 14 with the Bombers hosting the Demons at Abdu Prison. Unfortunately for the Bombers, their season has come to a close after a heartbreaking three-point loss last week to Geelong. Their season started pretty well and found themselves lingering in the top four during the early beginnings of the season but a poor run of form during the middle part of the year and a less than convincing finish sees them unable to make finals with a game to play. Whilst the season may be gone for the Baghdad side, they can still finish the year on a high with a win and would keep fifth place in the process if they do indeed finish the season strongly. A loss might see them drop back to seventh place so the last game certainly has a lot riding on it even if the Bombers can’t break into the top four.
The Demons on the other hand have all to play for. They sit fourth, precariously placed inside the top four and must win to secure a place in the finals. A win might see them reach second place on the ladder but a loss coupled with a Dragons’ victory could see them miss finals action once again. The Dees have been one of the more inconsistent sides all season, their start was fantastic and sat in second for most of the first half of the season. From there they had a heavy run of losses followed by a mini-revival to rally into fourth spot. But it could mean nothing if they don’t win against the Bombers and this match is probably the club’s most important game for the past few seasons.
This should be a cracking game, the Bombers will be out for a good finish to the season whilst the Demons will want to continue theirs into next week with victory.
Get ready for a blistering encounter.
Teams to be posted by Sunday 28th November 9pm AEST (10pm AEDT, 7pm AWST, 11am UTC).
