Brenno's stats for his debut game:
10 disposals (5 kicks, 5 handballs, 50% efficiency)
6 marks
11 uncontested possessions
1 inside 50
2 tackles
86% of game time

Marked up throughout the game on Ryan Gamble, Cameron Mooney and Gary Ablett which shows the confidence clarko has in him.

Copped an decent but accidental elbow square on the chin from ablett in the 2nd quarter.. so his debut jersey is literally covered in blood and sweat.. but definately no tears..

Was super keen, and active and maybe a little over keen at times, with a little to much curry on a couple of kicks and decisions. Goes without saying that nerves would have played a part, debut game, 70,000 people and against the benhmark team in the comp and will only inprove as he gets more games under his belt.

Turning point was the 3rd quarter after a great spoil and strong mark inside his defensive 50. Confidence really grew from that point on looked at home and more composed in my view.

Now that he has a taste of the big time, he will grasp it with all he has and take on the swans like a seasoned professional..

Go get em Brenno !!!!!!

7 stitches from Ablett in your first game, not a bad welcome to the big league.
Heard Hodgey on SEN this arvo and he said that the new kids would be looking forward to they're next hit out against Sydney this weekend. Could have just been a line, but i think Whitey will play, maybe Suckers but i think Schuey will have a rest.
Brendan will play much better this week now that he's had a taste:thumbsu:

A very solid effort against the roos playing in the back in Ladsons role, Will be very happy if he can keep that type of form up.

Starting to Settle and looks like he belongs in the team

List assessment: Hawthorn
By Chris Fagan

Brendan Whitecross
Had a good year playing 13 AFL games. He was particularly good in the first half of the season and then he had a few little injury problems after the break. He was a 17-year-old draft pick in 2007. He is only an 18-year-old, and to play the way he did was exciting.

Was the youngest player on the club’s list in 2008 and made solid progress at VFL level. Skilful midfielder or play-making defender with impressive speed and endurance. Has all the attributes to be a good player at the elite level but will be given time to mature.

Draft history: 2007 NAB AFL Draft 2nd round selection (Hawthorn) No. 29 overall.

Before i start first things first. I would like to thank RD for the opportunity to be part of Hawkeye and also look after Swiss. If you have been following the forums i have been big supporter of this kid and i think he is in for big things this year. I have seen him at box hill this year... all too briefly i might add because he was just too good at that level. I look forward to a wonderful year given that he has successfully completed his first pre season without injury or interruption so without further delay welcome
