GCS
North
Essendon
WB
Melbourne
St Kilda

Swap Saints for GWS if the giants spud it up soon like the suns.

Saints, bulldogs, north, melbourne, move one to Tasmania if they want to stay in or back to the vfl.

Moving a Victorian club to Tassie where there will be less fans, less members and in need of more AFL assistance should do the trick

Collingwood, Hawthorn, Geelong, Carlton, Essendon and Richmond all gone.
Then we'd get all fair free to air coverage and a fair share of Friday nights :D

Basically if the AFL did a NRL/Superleague thing, those 6 teams could make a glorified competition within themselves

Would be pretty boring a month in however

Dogs, North, Hawks, GWS, Port and The Suns. If Vic teams need to be killed it should not be 6 of the remaining foundation clubs in Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon, Melbourne St Kilda and Geelong. That leaves the door open to getting rid of Richmond, Hawthorn, North and the Dogs that are all expansion clubs of there time

Nice to see one Victorian can see what the rest of Australia knows.

It is so obvious talent is spread to thin for the elite level.

Saints, bulldogs, north, melbourne, move one to Tasmania if they want to stay in or back to the vfl.

These suburban clubs should never be in a national competition.

And gws gets the axe, just admit adl got it wrong, backto 14 teams, gets it alot fairer.
So Port Adelaide, Fremantle, Richmond, Collingwood, Essendon, Carlton and Hawthorn should go also o_O

Melbourne and Geelong stays by your theory as they're not suburbs, they're cities

Pretty poor thread however

Typical pick 6 teams, 4 of them are the Victorian "minnows" plus the expansion teams

If you barrack for one of those 4 minnows/2 expansion teams, deliberately leave your team out and kick out a battling team instead

"yawns"...........

Play 12 on the field.

Is the problem talent dilution.

But is it warranted ? The draft and rookie draft over the past two years. Is no more than before the compromised drafts.

Maybe players careers are being extended to compensate

Richmond invented the oval ball.

Yes the Saints are that is why I have them remaining in the comp. I must have left them if my list. But Richmond only gained entry in to the VFL in 1908 along side University to make a ten team competition. University then disbanded at the end of 1914 due to the war and dos not re-enter the league. Then in 1925 the league expanded to a 12 competition with the inclusion of North Melbourne, Footscray and Hawthorn. Originally Hawthorn weren't in the picture to join the league due to a poor record in the VFA (from 1914-1924) and clubs like Port Melbourne and Williamstown was inline for promotion but the VFL felt they needed to try and grow there presence in to Melbourne's East.

Simple, have 16 on the field only, cuts down on congestion a little, and in turn there is 36 less players who are gonna dilute the league with average skills. Game will be faster, better quality matches, and less endless stoppages so the only people out of work will be bums who probably should not have been on a list otherwise, and Ross Lyon and Paul Roos :p

Collingwood, Hawthorn, Geelong, Carlton, Essendon and Richmond all gone.
