It would be wrong to boot collingwood now when they are down haha.:)
Hardly down. May struggle to make finals from here but win/loss this year won't be a true reflection on where we are at.
We'll close on top 4 next year.

Brisbane, GC, GWS, Sydney, WB, North

Footy is not working north of the border so get rid of it and WB and North are two of the weaker Vic teams.

We s**t all over St Kilda financially

There isn't the talent for 18 teams and that is pretty clear now and we will be propping up a number of clubs pretty forever now. So who needs to go?

Kill off
GWS
North Melbourne -send them to the VFL and bring Fitzroy back into the VFL

Merge
Gold Coast and Brisbane - SE Qld will only ever be able to financially support one club.
Melbourne and St Kilda.

Dogs, North, Hawks, GWS, Port and The Suns. If Vic teams need to be killed it should not be 6 of the remaining foundation clubs in Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon, Melbourne St Kilda and Geelong. That leaves the door open to getting rid of Richmond, Hawthorn, North and the Dogs that are all expansion clubs of there time

I'd be happy to take the Dogs back to the VFL. AFL house has totally ****ed the national league so might as well go see a league that is actually watchable.

Enjoyed beating your s**t truck of a team yesterday though. Cheers :thumbsu:

Will never happen. The AFL has spent millions of dollars to expand the competition.

It is far more likely in the next 20 years or so that the competition will become split into conferences ala NBA. Or even more likely, mid season there will be a point where the competition is split into three (6 teams in each bracket) to decide finals positions and in the case of the bottom 6, draft selection.

Cannot recall who it was, but a pundit in the past year has suggested this (may've been a Gerard - Healy or Whateley).

Gws, suns, lions, Melbourne st Kilda merge to be the St Kilda fallen angels, bulldogs and north merge to become the north western kangaroos. Boom!

Far more likely soccer has killed the league inside 30 years. The hundreds of millions wasted in expansion programs to a disinterested audience in GWS and GC has achieved bugger all compared to disenfranchising the heartcore audiences in the southern states. Afl should have built up the baracades and circled the wagons with that money and instead spent millions charging over the top into a futile western front that could see them lose the war. They are also fighting the wrong enemy. Like declaring war on Turkey (Rugby) without noticing the entire continent of Europe (soccer) is about to charge the eastern front. Stupid rich *heads in AFL house
