Past #13. Leigh Adams - coached SthCroydon to '17 flag - 18-19 COburg VFL coach

One of the few who continuously put his body on the line for our club.

We all knew this decision was going to be made, but it was just a matter of when.

Best of luck for his future and his family, Patch leaves the club a well respected man.

The guy on the door of the rooms didn't recognise him on the weekend, so he didn't let him in initially.

True. He spoke about it on 3aw. How quickly they forget

Unreal. It's been the same bloke for years and he has his son working alongside him (who'll be taking over the role when his old man tosses it in). Poor Patch!

It was the security bloke who didn't recognise him....not the doorman who actually is a decent bloke. The son has helped out because the other doorman has retired during season after many years of great service. There have been new rules introduced this year by AFL about entry into club rooms before & after the games.

That makes more sense. The son's name is Bart and he knows who's legit and who isn't, but you have to get through the wire gate which is manned by security prior to reaching Bart at the entry to the rooms.

Will always be a favourite player of mine, redefined the tough as nails forward pocket/small forward.

Never took a step backwards did Patch, never backed down from anything, the tougher the competition - the harder he'd play, and produce his finest work.

All the best Leigh, hope the future holds no signs of brain trauma or relating issues.

Evolution of the North retiree:

Suburban or assistant coaching role -> coaching role at Sydney or Hawthorn -> senior coaching role at grand final club that isn't North

David King doesn't like this

Going to appear on 7.30 (ABC) tonight. Talking about his experiences with head injuries and concussion.

Just saw that. Good story. they need to follow up on it tho, esp wrt prevention.

A mate had dropped round and we've both been talking about how we reckon concussions have affected us.
