Talk about a sidestep in an article, this is just bizarre.

Started reading about the implications of the election on North's Ballarat chances and all of a sudden it takes a turn to possible future MFC father/son picks lol. Can't wait to see the reaction on the North board...

Billy Stretch, 14, is still four years away from being able to play AFL football, but that has not stopped the Demons from tagging him as a future father-son pick.

it's been known for 1-2 years that Strechy's son wants to play for the Demons, he said it himself 2 years ago that he barracks for the Demons and the Demons had him lined up.

Very interesting news on Billy from 1:17. Sounds like a gun, just what we'd need going forward if he could come in and play well straight away as an inside player that can go outside like Selwood did.

^The future is so bright it's scary. And I know we've all been fooled before, but this time around it just feels different. Shame stupid little Tom couldn't see it. Ahwell, suck s**t when we win the flag you silly flog! (enjoy the bottom of the ladder!) xD

we are going to have two sons of guns by 2015, Viney and Stretch plus all the blokes who are 18-22 now will be going strong.

And right at the same time Gold Coast and GWS will be coming into their own. Make no

bones about it we will be in direct competition with these teams and at the moment their

lists have more talent.

GC will lose some of their high end talent in the next couple of years,
sides will be circling around their Vic based stars after next year.
North will chase Swallow and his brother will probably even be captain
of the Roos by then.

These new addition sides will have to weather the storm when their
players come out of contract.
On top of this, come 2014-16 when we are threatening.
Ablett, Brennen, Brown, Bock will be past their peaks.

I think GWS are managing their list to place themselves very well down
the track - only problem is their talent wont stay.

It won't just come down to talent I don't think. Make no mistake what the AFL wants for the "development of the game" will be every bit as important when it comes to who will bring home the bacon.

Back on Billy Stretch, how old is this kid now? Is there genuine cause to get excited about him just yet or are we still blowing our load over a kid who looks like he hasn't hit puberty yet?

The optimism from 2011 posters in this thread is sickening.

Nothing will go wrong this time though, genuinely exciting young list (y)

How do you see young Billy develop in the next year or so?
Well the rains have been very good and we're seeing some quite nice pasture develop. With the right diet and socialisation with the other goats I see Billy becoming a fine, strapping creature who should produce plenty virile kids with our other nanny goats.
