1989 Australian 500cc GP

Just watching a replay of the race on foxtel.
Have always loved watching the 500cc/Motogp bikes but had forgotten how amazing this race was.
Six world champions (soon to be in the case of Rainey Schwantz and Doohan). Amazing battle to the flag and some of my favourite riders of all time including Randy Mamola who knew how to celebrate a race win. All at the first race at the best track in the world. Anyone else have a classic race and/or season.

Strangely there was an Aussie MotoGP in the middle of last decade where Rossi got a time penalty rather than a pit lane penalty and had to win by a certain margin which was riveting in it's own way.
