Total members is over 620,000 already - the record is 650,373 set last year. Collingwoods membership alone would probably put us over that figure since its thought to be around 80k and we only count the reported 53k.

We'll probably get around the 680,000 mark by the looks of things.

Think about it. That's 1 AFL member per every 32, man, woman or child in this country.
That's quite an amazing figure one would think, considering we haven't really got full penetration through two of the three biggest states in this country.

Hopefully Brisbane will pick up a few more this weekend after their good showing against Melbourne.

Should be a bit of a jump after next weekend.
All the teams that played away get a chance to sign up and resign at their first home game.
Like to see the saints pass 35000. 40000 I don't think so!!!!!
I hope the tigers get 50000 this year. Don't mind the tigers but the chest beating from some posters this year has been a bit much.
Humble guys humble!!!

Last year Collingwood's membership drive was made a major feature on their website and so one would expect that the administration would have ensured that updates were very frequent so that the website was constantly updated. This year one would expect the numbers to be a bit lower as last year was immediately following a premiership year. That said, the posted numbers are about 10,000 less than for the same time last year and one would expect that difference to reduce when there is another update.

70,000+ for the Magpies has been mentioned for a while.

Interesting that they are choosing not to update it regularly, they want to announce a big number, I guess...

Personally I haven't seen anything to suggest Collingwood are expecting a repeat of last year but I suppose it's possible I missed it. I would think it is to be expected that the numbers will drop from last year. It's pretty common to have a surge after a premiership only for it to fall the following year. 60,000+would be a good total in anyone's language IMO.

North on 29,941.

Should get over the 30K mark today.
