Canada in all sorts of trouble vs. USA in Semi Final One. Down 3-0, just into the second frame. American captain Jake McCabe has two first-period goals and a second period assist thus far, and the Americans are really working the Canadian forwards over. Team USA has really played themselves into this tournament. They're on fire offensively, and John Gibson looks real good between the pipes.

4-0 Canada now, and Subban has been pulled. This is shades of last year's Canada vs. Russia semi.

Canada played like a beer league team. Terrible effort in the first and second periods and just destroyed by the Yanks.
Not enough offense from the big guns: Huberdeau, Scheifele and Nugent-Hopkins. On the flip side, the Americans got major production from McCabe and JT Miller (a Rangers prospect, which is great) and John Gibson in goal. The US are a team I wouldn't want to be playing now. They're red-hot. They must be favourites, surely. Russia was shaky vs. Switzerland and Sweden came through the weaker pool. Either team would go into the Gold Medal Game as an underdog.

Lol, Binnington. Subban has been great since they brought him in. Proving that most of those goals the other night weren't his fault.
Not necessarily. Means that he is at least on tonight, probably a wake up call he needed, especially if his ego is anything like his Brothers.

What a crazy game. 6-5 to the Russians in OT. Third period was insane, just back and forth.

Wonder if both teams will get a please explain for the antics straight after the OT goal. The Russkies were taunting the Canadians, but you can't excuse swinging a stick at them. Poor end to a great game.

Was there? I know Reinhart slashed a USA player with a two hander.

Sweden gave the Yanks a good go but once again Gibson stood up when he was needed and they battled through. The US looked a little tired and didn't have the same pop they had in the previous two games, but they still had enough class to get the win.

I tell you though, give these Swedish kids a few years and add the likes of Landeskog to the mix and they have a future Olympic or WC winning team on the cards. They will at least be in the mix.

Chances of the chief taunter being a fourth liner who likely got no more than two minutes of ice time?

Bush league...
