Lol there is this also this:

The smile on his face when he says he never lost against the filth is fantastic :D

Any excuse to post this.

THAT IS BRILLIANT. THAT IS SIMPLY STUNNING. GENIUS AT WORK, HIS NAME IS THIERRY HENRY.

One of my favourite pieces of commentary, ever.

Haha that top video is hilarious. He loves to rub it in to Spurs fans doesnt he. First letting them all know that he never lost against them. Then going into detail about his favourite photo and the expressions on the Spurs fans faces after he scored that goal. Hahah stick the boot in Henry. :D

The second video. Meh. It's a great goal. But ive never hated Arsenal, I still dont, they used to play such great football and they held United at bay for so long, an enemy of my enemy is my friend is how I used to look at it.

And now City and Chelsea have taken over that mantle of stopping United. Of course it would be nice for us to start winning titles to do it ourselves but all in good time.

As for best bits of commentary...

AAAWWWWWW YOU BEAUTY!!! WHAT A HIT SON!! WHAT A HIT!

Some of the best commentary often comes with a Stevie screamer :D

Tyler is brilliant.
He used to be, but he can't hide his biases in his commentary nowadays.

Sounds like he's at a funeral when he commentates us and we're winning.

Who does he support?

He has the best voice, suits football perfectly. Allan Parry is my favourite though (the one doing the Baggio clip I posted).

I think it's Brentford or something like that. He does have an admitted soft spot for Arsenal I think and I'm pretty sure he has a Man United team poster on the ceiling of his bedroom.

Allan Parry is a campaigner.

Yeah always had a feeling he liked Arsenal/Wenger. Could always hear a warmth in our voice when he commentated our games when we were actually good.

WHAT? YOU'RE A MONSTER. WHY?

If anyone needs any evidence of Tylers lack of balance in his commentary, have a listen to the goals from the Liverpool v City game or the Liverpool v Chelsea game last season.

Liverpool goals = orgasm
City/Chelsea goals = oh dear, I've just stepped in dogshit.

Interesting that you say that - not sure what commentary you got of City v Barca last week in the UK, but here in Australia we got Tyler and (I think) Andy Hinchcliffe.

Tyler called both Barca goals in the funeral voice that you are talking about, but got all excited when Aguero scored to make it 2-1.

I have a feeling that he is just biased towards the perceived underdog and that this comes out in his commentary - if you listen to him doing an FA Cup tie for example, he always talks up the lower-ranked side and the possibility of an upset. He did Bolton v Liverpool a few weeks ago and was elated when Bolton went up 1-0, but sounded flat as a tack when Liverpool won it at the death.

That may be the case, although I'd say that shows a lack of balance in commentary if thats the reason he does it. In the Liverpool v City game we were 2-0 down, and if you weren't looking at the screen I think you would struggle to know we scored. I watched the Barca game with the sound down, so don't know who was commentating.

And he's never had a problem getting excited for United goals when they were on top.

Yeah, but the game was on SBS as well, and they seem to take the Sky (I think) feed from the UK.

Where the same game is broadcast on both ESPN and SBS, choose SBS every time.

lack of balance in commentary to be fair is problematic in many sports, well the ones I watch anyway. Maybe it's human nature?

It probably is, but the best commentators should be able to overcome that.

He's not a former player is he? Generally the 'specialist' commentators are better at being unbiased. I could reel of a few in this category that are quite good.

Whereas former players will naturally be prone to biases, and probably shouldn't commentate their former club/team.
