So 2nd, 3rd and 4th all won, however 5th lost.
Next up for FC is Curzon Ashton at "home" The 2nd half of the season we've been playing at Curzon's home stadium, so we're no stranger to here.
A win will mathematically eliminate Curzon Ashton and Blyth Spartans from the title race and FC will ensure a top 4 finish.

Oh, and if Ilkeston (2nd) lose to Belper Town (24th) they're gone too meaning only Workington and Ashton United could chase down FC United.

I thought if a game was abandoned in the second half the result stood. See: Brisbane v Wellington.
Thats just A League rules. Probably because its much harder/more expensive to replay the game.

Been a disappointing run of form from Luton, dropped out of the playoffs now. Would have taken this at the start of the season, all about establishing ourselves in the Football League. Away at Tranmere tonight we're struggling and they're desperate to jump the monkeyhangers. Not expecting much. Haven't won since beating Accrington in February, 2 wins in 13 it's a bit Perth Glory like.

Half time, 1-0 up.
That result alone would eliminate 2 teams from the title race and tie up a playoff finish at worst.
But, the one other result im paying attention to atm, 4th place Ashton United, vs 17th place Ramsbottom United. If Ashton drop a point, FC United, without having to worry about other results, can wrap up the league in next week's mid week game. That's currently 0-0 at the half (well, it was at the 40 minute mark) so that's going the right way.

Biggest crowd for the year (3,071), 20% bigger than the previous highest (2,458)

Solidifies our average over 2k. Only done that 4 times before.

Ranking, season, average

1. (1st) 2005-06 - 3,056
2. (2nd) 2006-07 - 2,581
3. (4th) 2008-09 - 2,152
4. (3rd) 2007-08 - 2,086
5. (10th) 2014-15 - 2,051 (still 2 games left)
6. (6th) 2010-11 - 1,961
7. (5th) 2009-10 - 1,954
8. (7th) 2011-12 - 1,947
9. (9th) 2013-14 - 1,928
10. (8th) 2012-13 - 1,835

Since we moved games from Stalybridge to Tameside we've averaged 2281. That puts us right on the tail of 07-08

But with current crowds and league position, I think pushing for a top 3 crowd would be doable. 2,100-2,200 is where I think we can finish for crowd average on the year. hopefully the upper end!

Real testament to the fans this year. Move from where we've played for 9 years at (Bury) and dlay after delay for our own stadium (here's hoping it's ready for Benfica) and no major rival in the league to bring huge away support to bump up a big crowd like Halifax, Chester etc. have in recent years (Think there's only been 2 games this year crack 1,000 without FC boosting games)

5 minutes left in Workington-Blyth. (game delayed 45min due to crash on A66 or something)
1-1.
Perfect result
Blyth dropping points eliminates them from the title.
Workington dropping points realistically takes them out of the title race too.

Would leave it to FC United, but if we falter, Ashton United COULD manage it.

1-1 draw is the final result.
Playoff spot secured.
Next up, away to 19th.

Ok, this week is interesting.
Only 22 of 24 teams play (Skelmersdale have the next 2 Saturdays off, but do have a game vs FC United in a midweek game next week)

Trafford got relegated today joining Belper Town going down, no one else can be relegated next week (still 2 teams to go down)

5 teams can avoid the drop if results go their way reducing it to 6 teams fighting to avoid being one of those 2 going down.

Most of the intrigue is in the top 10 (can still be promoted)

The top 10 this week.
Witton Albion (19th) vs FC United of Manchester (1st)
Grantham Town (12th) vs Ilkeston (2nd)
Barwell (7th)
vs Ashton United (3rd)
Belper Town (24th) vs Workington (4th)
Curzon Ashton (5th)
vs Kings Lynn Town (14th)
Blyth Spartans (6th) vs Nantwich Town (16th)
Buxton (8th) vs Rushall Olympic (10th)
Skelmersdale (9th) - idle

The top 5 can still win the title, the next 5 are just fighting for playoff spots

It's possible for all Ilkeston, Workington and Curzon Ashton to be eliminated from the title race this weekend

And with a Curzon Ashton win, Rushall Olympic and Skelmersdale are eliminated instantly, but if Rushall then take points off Buxton, they're gone too.

So after Saturday we could be down to a 2 team title race, with 7 teams still possible to finish 2nd-5th and still be promoted.

FGR bounced back into the play off spots with a 4-1 away win over Chester after losing on Good Friday to Aldershot.

Eastleigh are 2 points behind with a game in hand but our next game is huge. It's against Macclesfield Town who directly above us on the table with 2 points more and with both teams on the same number of games played.

A win puts us 4th and in control of our (playoff chances) destiny. 3 games to go (including the Macclesfield game).

Huge huge game!
