NFL 2014/15 Pro Bowl

I still don't like that Kyle Fuller is going to make the Pro Bowl. He had 2 massive games at the start of the year with 5 turnovers, but before and since then has done nothing spectacular

Surprised so many Eagles players made it.

Really? Thought all of those were no brainers.

Actually reckon we're stiff not to have atleast one more. Fletcher Cox should be there.

Otherwise, it demonstrates the gap between the top of our roster and the bottom.

Surprised Kelce made it. Cox should definitely be there and Maclin is just the victim of a really strong year for WR's.

Kelce I think is the best C in football, though the time he missed maybe acts against him.

Really should be pressing for All Pro next season.

Led by the Broncos’ NFL-high nine selections, the AFC West paced all divisions with 15 players selected to the initial 2015 Pro Bowl roster.

On the other end of the spectrum, the AFC South and NFC South have just seven Pro Bowlers apiece.

Overall, the AFC had 46 players selected, with 40 NFC players chosen.

Here’s the division-by-division Pro Bowler count:

AFC West (15): Denver (9), Kansas City (4), Oakland (1), San Diego (1).

AFC North (13): Pittsburgh (5), Cleveland (3), Baltimore (3), Cincinnati (2).

NFC West (12): Seattle (5), Arizona (3), St. Louis (2), San Francisco (2).

NFC East (12): Dallas (6), Philadelphia (5), Washington (1), N.Y. Giants (0).

AFC East (11): New England (5), Buffalo (3), Miami (2), N.Y. Jets (1).

Pro Bowl snubs abound, as usual

With the Pro Bowl rosters unveiled, the next question is which players should have made it. Here are some of the names that come to mind, based on consultations with and among the PFT staff.

At quarterback, it’s hard to supplant any of the six guys who made it (Tom Brady, Patriots; Andrew Luck, Colts; Peyton Manning, Broncos; Aaron Rodgers, Packers; Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers; Tony Romo, Cowboys), but Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, Saints quarterback Drew Brees, and Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson have reason to be a little bit miffed.

At running back, the spot that went to Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles could have/should have gone to Packers running back Eddie Lacy, or possibly to Ravens running back Justin Forsett.

Broncos receiver Emmanuel Sanders (95 catches, 1,331 yards), Lions receiver Golden Tate (96 catches, 1,286 yards) had better numbers than Dez Bryant, but Bryant has a much greater impact on the opposition and game planning.

Saints tight end Jimmy Graham earned a spot based on reputation. From a pass-catching and blocking standpoint, Titans tight end Delanie Walker deserved it more than Graham. Bears tight Martellus Bennett also had more catches and yards than Graham. Chargers tight end Antonio Gates had plenty of clutch catches.

Jets defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson had a better year that Chiefs defensive lineman Dontari Poe. Our resident North Carolinian Darin Gantt, who covered the Panthers for 14 years before joining PFT, believes Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis had a better year than Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly.

At cornerback, Orlando Scandrick of the Cowboys and Antonio Cromartie of the Cardinals arguably had better years than Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson.

Quite remarkable Odell had better stats than 2 of the receivers that made it after missing the first 4 games, but at first back up you would assume regardless he will be at the pro bowl
