Interestingly there are as many Victorians in the WA top seven (Klinger and Agar) as in the Victorian top seven (Quiney and Handscomb).
There are also three Western Australians in the Victorian team- Rogers, Stoinis and Hussey.

There are 5 Victorians in their expected XI and 8 sandgropers in the WA XI.

Seven players have played test cricket, 5 in the Victorian XI and 2 in the WA XI.

Save for Harris the Western Australian top 5 have performed incredibly well which has allowed Western Australia to carry a long tail. Fortunately Sam Whiteman seems to have returned to form with the bat.

Victoria's batting lineup is very solid and all of the top seven have performed very well this season.

The difference however is with the attacks.
Pattinson and Siddle is a very good pace attack and I expect Fawad Ahmed to be the difference in the final.

The Western Australian pace attack in particular looks very second string in the absence of Hogan and Behrendorff. Moody and Tye in particular would also normally be behind Mackin, Paris and Duffield and I can see Victoria scoring 400 plus in the first innings.

There are apparently some issues with Rogers' fitness but I expect that he will play.

My Prediction: Victoria comfortably with WA only having a chance if we win the toss and score heavily in the first innings

Well we have been naming 13-14 man squads for recent matches anyway, covers all eventualities whilst interstate.

White will be cover for Rogers, unless they go the extra bat given we only need a draw. Patto will come in for Holland with Hastings as cover

Holland stiff, bowled very well last match

Finch isn't best XI, surely. But yep Maxwell.

Plus there is an unfit Pattinson in the side, Hastings would probably be best XI but misses out here I imagine due to missing recent games through injury

Not totally at full strength

Whilst Finch struggles, he has made a few centuries at international level since he last had a really good run in first class cricket

To be fair to Finch, his last really good run in first class cricket was the last English county season, where he averaged 48 from his 5 matches.

Definitely not best 11 for the Vics though.

Damn that Victorian squad could beat some international teams. Could be a belting unless we bat first and apply pressure.
What? Christian, Ahmed, Hussey, Quiney, Hastings, Boland, Stoinis and Handscomb aren't close to international standard (yet for at least the last 2)
