Just got home from The Croquet Club. saw Wingard and Impey there. And I'm pleased to say that whilst they were enjoying themselves kicking back in the lounge chairs, they weren't drinking, just hanging out to get some love from the babes. Anyway, I just thought it showed professionalism to do it. One thing that I thought was a little strange was that Frampton was there but at no time did I see him with the other two. You just hear that they're such a close knit bunch that they'd all hang out together. Then again, as much as I was stalking them there's every chance they were hanging together and I just missed it.

Had a quick chat to Impey, what a great bloke Port have there, very, very down to earth, you can just see that he's switched on and he won't finish his career with potential. A humble bloke. I'd say his outlook has a lot to do with his upbringing and the scare hes had with his Dad. He's now my favourite player. Sorry Jackson:(

Frampton bothers me, being such a strong Crows supporter, he doesn't seem comfortable yet. Needs to pull his finger out and accept he's at the best AFL club in SA. Other new ones seem ok.

Crows went over him a number of times seems the feeling is not mutual.

The Recruit winner Johann Wagner shows he is more than just “the winner of the prize’’
JOHANN Wagner might be more than just, as Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley puts it, “the winner of the prize’’.

The inaugural winner of Foxtel’s Australian Football reality show The Recruit, Wagner’s rookie listing by the Power was viewed by some as little more than a publicity stunt.
But the 24-year-old Port Lincoln product showed in Friday night’s intra-club practice match at Alberton Oval that he has some genuine talent and might eventually push for an AFL game.
“He looked really lively, didn’t he?,’’ Hinkley said after Wagner booted two goals and stood out with his explosive running.

This article says Polec has added 4kg to his frame mainly in the upper body:

ANOTHER pre-season is coming to an end with footy fans cast their eyes on their favourite stars for the first time over the coming weeks.

With pre-season matches now under way, the NAB Challenge means players will now start to put the weight and running sessions behind them.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the fence, fans will get to see the fruit of their stars’ long, arduous summers — not only with how their players perform but with how they look.

PORT Adelaide is poised to field a strong team in its opening NAB Challenge match against West Coast on Sunday as coach Ken Hinkley plots to have his side cherry-ripe for the start of the premiership season.
Faced with a tough road trip against Fremantle in Perth in Round 1, Hinkley is mindful of his players’ travel schedule and plans to keep most of his key men out of the second-round NAB Challenge match against Richmond in Albury, NSW.
His best players will instead play against the Eagles at Norwood Oval and in the final pre-season match against Adelaide at AAMI Stadium on March 21.
“Because we play Freo in round one we’re this year going to play around with things a little bit differently,’’ Hinkley said of the Power’s NAB Challenge blueprint.

The Polecat looked much stronger to me after his second pre-season with Burgo. Get em fit, build em up.

Is Power coach Ken Hinkley creating another rival or a successor at Alberton?
ONE of the great measures of an AFL coach is how many disciples he leaves to carry his sermon around the competition.

Ken Hinkley, one of Malcolm Blight’s prophets, has had an extraordinary record since he finally gained his chance to coach a club - more so than a team - at Port Adelaide. He lost Alan Richardson to the senior vacancy at St Kilda after his first season at Alberton and then Phil Walsh to Adelaide last year.
In reality, this is more a reflection on the change in how AFL senior coaches are appointed. Gone is the fashion for the recently retired player who is at the cutting edge of the “modern game” and in favour is the long-standing assistant coach who is “expert in football”.

How Michael Voss’ tactics are making Port Adelaide more damaging
PORT Adelaide is priming its hard-running midfielders to take their speed advantage on AFL rivals to a new level this season.

The tactical influence of Brisbane premiership captain Michael Voss as the Power’s new midfield manager is already evident with Port Adelaide adding quick ball movement to coach Ken Hinkley’s trademark running game.
The Power’s internal trial at Alberton on Friday revealed how the Port Adelaide midfielders will quickly switch play from congested stoppages to open space on the other side of the ground.
This was the tactic that made Brownlow Medallist Voss the general of Brisbane’s three-peat AFL premierships from 2001-03 - and could emerge as the new winning edge as the Power chases its first flag since ending the Lions’ rule in 2004.

Voss is seriously going to bring so much to not only our midfield group, but our entire squad, I'm super excited for the season proper to start.

I also saw them there with Achee and Danny Butcher. Oshea on the other hand had two jugs of beer in each hand and was skulling them lol

I'd never heard of The Croquet Club until a couple weeks ago and I've heard it a hundred times since. Our boys hanging around with private school numpties then? or do they get them to clear out :D

It's a fringe thing. The whole of Victoria square is basically turned into a set of bars.
