I can never understand the numerous references I see around here to getting rid of Grima. For me, he is in our top 6 best/most important player. Sure, he's had a few issues with his back, etc but I reckon he'll be OK. He's such a good defender.
The thought that a stiff breeze could knock him over. Guess the idea is to replace him with someone with allegedly better shelf life, if not better or equivalent ability.

Tom Lamb is an interesting one. 193cm forward/midfielder. Extremely athletic and versatile. Fast and can run all day. Skilful and X-factor. Can definitely see him slipping, and I'd be wrapped with a Mason Wood type scenario. On the other hand could go in the teens.
Would be very happy with Tom Lamb, hasn't had the best year so he should be available at our 1st pick and possibly even our 2nd but less likely

THis is it for me.

We'd get Jurrah for nothing on a rookie list for three years.

And the potential to help the guy really turn his life around.

THe guy can play footy too.

To your ealier point though who knows whether he would ever be able to move beyond his baggage.

I'd take a punt on Jurrah in a heartbeat. Gun and deserves a second chance.

The fact he isn't Waite is a massive plus in itself.

Who has seen much of Menadue?

Sounds like the type we need by the write ups below on the draftboard.

Pick 25: Western Bulldogs – Connor Menadue

Position: Midfielder/forward
Height: 188 cm, Weight: 69 kg, DOB: 19/09/1996
Club: Western Jets
Projected draft range: 20-40
Player comparison: Isaac Smith

An explosive yet nimble midfielder, don’t let Connor Menadue’s light frame fool you into thinking he isn’t up to the rigours of AFL football. Averaging 18 disposals for the Western Jets behind the likes of Liam Duggan, Corey Ellis, Dillon Viojo-Rainbow and Jayden Laverde, Menadue’s ability to cut open a game with his speed and penetrating kick makes him an exciting prospect for a club that’s looking for pace in their midfield. Although on the skinny side, Menadue cracks in hard when it comes to tackling, and has a knack for kicking goals on the run. He gets a big tick for versatility, playing mostly off half back and on a wing, albeit with stints up forward for the Jets. He takes the game on, rating among the best performed for handball receives, while also making good decisions. With the ability to use the ball by both hand and foot, Menadue has a certain amount of polish that a player of his ilk needs. He slips through congestion with his breakaway speed and loves to run and carry up a wing, not too dissimilar to Hawthorn’s Isaac Smith. I rate him highly particularly due to his agility, game awareness, and clean hands. Named best on ground in the Jets’ elimination loss, Menadue almost willed the Jets over the line off his own boot.

13. Geelong - Connor Menadue
Western Jets

Height: 188 cm
Weight: 69 kg
Position: Midfielder
Player comparison: Ryan Griffen
Strengths: Match winner, goal kicker, explosive pace, clearance specialist
Areas needing improvement: Needs to build his frame

Connor Menadue is a really exciting prospect. He’s a smokey for the first round and I rate him highly. He finds the ball enough to always have an impact. Against the Ranges, he read the hitout perfectly four times in a row. Each time he had a centre clearance and found a target in the 50, which saw the Jets kick four quick goals in less than five minutes. And when the Ranges hit back, Menadue kicked a goal to stop the flow, and then kicked the game winner as well: simply, he is ice cold. His speed is terrific, and his kicking is excellent. By foot, he has plenty of penetration. Menadue reminds me a lot of Ryan Griffen as he can break the game open with his speed and skill, but he’s also going to take a while to become that player at AFL level. His height gives him a point of difference compared to others, and his weight shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Menadue kicked 16 goals (a goal per game) and was named in the bests nine times. His tackling has really improved, gathering four or more tackles in 10 games. Menadue has bolted a lot since his elimination final performance. He was a clear best on ground and went on several runs down the field. His 27 disposals at 89 per cent were incredible enough, as were his two goals and an astonishing 18 handball receives.

Have heard reports he is playing well. The type of player we need. Would he be there at our 1st pick.

What the views on De Goey? He's come into my fav for this draft that'll be around our first, good on inside and out, X factor, great vision and a pretty good and creative kick.
