Ok I know we're only 1 game into the 2014 season and there is still a very long way to go in the season, but I thought why not get a Draft thread up and running, where we as a group can discuss the kids coming through and keep track of possible draftees.

For those that don't have it the AFL Prospectus have their list of top 25 potential draftees so I thought why not start off with them and then as the year progresses we can add names to the group. That is the 25 Prospectus kids and I'm sure that our resident draft watchers will no doubt have some other names that need to be added as the year progresses. Please note that the descriptions above are not mine, they are just scaled down versions of what was in the prospectus. So please don't ask me any questions about these kids.

What I will say though is that as it stands right now the kid that I would most like to add to our list at seasons end from those above would be Petracca, as he comes across as that mid sized goal kicking midfield/forward option that we seem to be lacking.

Hope he plays a lot of midfield this year at Eastern... whats his pace like??
Petracca played today was selected at FF and was named best for Eastern kicking 3 goals. Angus Brayshaw was named best for Sandringham in the same game.

We will need to draft a tall ruck this year(later pick or rookie) and I wouldn't be surprised if we picked a tall defender at our first pick.

The question is who is going to get the chop for our 3 picks? Do we upgrade Thomas or Miles? Who are the 3 that are in trouble? Helbig, Dea, Batchelor, Edwards, O'Hanlon? Will King or Newy retire? this is the question that is most important.

Could do it easy. May even trade some out. Dea and Helbig definitely will be gone IMO. Batch maybe traded. King gone. Newy probably done.

All of Helbig, Dea, Batchelor, A.Edwards, O'Hanlon would be in danger of being cut at seasons end. Also think that Newman will retire, while King could be let go as well especially if there are any more issues with Toby Mitchell.
