He can seriously play, but he's just too small for AFL level.
Best he can hope for is a rookie spot IMO.

i have never seen it, but if he has the same leg size as simpson and is same height as buckley then there is hope... what are his stats?

He's a serious jockey.
167cm and he's tiny.
But his skills are first class.

I've only seen two episodes and about 30 seconds of him playing footy - but the Volleyballer looks pretty good, Cat B?

Isn't that where the "winner" of the Recruit gets placed anyway ??? Cat B Rookie due to their background (and as a promotional tool)

Yep.

My issue is - a lot of them are like 24 yrs already. By the time you train them to be ready, it's a bit of a waste.

Taylor has more speed than Daniel, but Daniel's use of the ball and decision making skills are elite.
Would love to see him given a chance at AFL level just to see how he'd cope.

Brent Harvey is only 172cm, but again much quicker than Daniel.

unfortunately I think he maybe destined to win plenty of league best and fairest just none for the big leagues. At his height and lacking blistering speed no club will risk it.

A good point. Only those who can sustain a high level of contribution for 6-7 years are worth the investment of time.....and it is such a risk betting on who they are

Not 100% sure about the whole story, I think he only recently switched to AFL from basketball.

Could be worse he could have switched from rugby league. At least he can jump.

It's disappointing how the once thriving State leagues have struggled due to the national competition. In Canberra there was a time when the local league (ACTAFL) got good prime time TV news coverage and the GF attracted a crowd in excess of 15,000. It is a very pale shadow of a league in 2014.

He's one i'm going to pay very close attention to when I get around to re-watching these games.
A couple of others have caught my eye from WA as well, but Garlett is the stand out for me.

I agree, definitely worth watching.
