We are within 100 days of this years Great Race so its time for this thread.
Of the usual suspects, only Red Cadeaux & Mount Athos look likely with most others retired.

Market has The Offer favourite with up & comers La Amistad & Signoff also high up.
Former internationals O V Prince,Tres Blue,C House & Jet Away will be better for their time here.

Japan look likely to be represented by Admire Rakti who ran 4th in the Japan Cup.

Godolphin's rebranding of Darley will strengthen their assault while local buyers have been busy snapping up Terrubi & Cafe Society from Europe. The usual likely visitors will become clearer over the next few months.

Pether's Moon has some nice form and the owner is open to the idea of the Cup - currently $95 on Betfair.

Contributer going to John O'Shea through the Darley connection. At least we know he's coming. $130 on Betfair.

Interesting race at Goodwood tonight with Cumani's Havana Cooler and OTI's Van Percy going around. For completeness, Kelinni and Saptapadi also engaged!

How does this horse stack up historically against Pop Rock & Delta Blues?

Almost a decade ago so no direct comparison other than Delta Blues ran 3rd in a Japan Cup

Contributer is an interesting one,High Chap horse but all his best form is at 2000m.
He is 100% genuine though, not sure about O'Shea with stayers though.

Van Percy beat Havana Cooler last night at Goodwood.
Assuming both would go to the Ebor as they are nowhere near getting a start in a M Cup at their current rating.

Never say never, good way to get healthy odds, dont tell me if it comes back and starts winning well, a cup start is out of the question

they also own Signoff,he's their next Cup horse either this year or next

Glorious Stakes tomorrow night (10.55pm) also has Pether's Moon & Cafe Society.
Winner gets exemption from C Cup ballot

The exposed horses are looking pretty thin on the ground. Lloyd got a few stashed away?

Yes he has. Foundry looks the best of the next group - he won over 1400m at Flemington (and sank my quaddie) so he's got a decent turn of foot. Form around Telescope in England.

Other than that he's got Massiyn, Thoughtworthy and Shirkapour from memory. I remember hearing that Massiyn had been showing the plenty at Macedon. Unfortunately he didn't show much at the track, but it may be a matter of acclimatisation.

Thoughtworthy won the Group 2 Great Voltigeur in England a couple of years ago which is a pretty solid race, but was battling to beat the ambulance home. Maybe they should send him to Darren Weir, to hang out with Akzar!!

He's probably bought a few others we haven't heard of too.

Pether's Moon wins. Some equivocation from trainer and owner afterwards as to next targets. And a mention by some commentators that they might be inviting Australian offers for part ownership...

It was an encouraging performance,as was Cafe Society's 3rd.
Trainer very upbeat, travel is on the menu:

Hannon said "He's got Australia written all over him.
He looked like he didn't come down the hill very well and Hughesie had to get after him. Then he looked like he was beaten, then he came on the bridle. Without sounding arrogant, he's capable of a little bit more than that.
We do like him, it was nothing more than he was due, he deserved it.
I don't think this track really suits him. He's a nice, big horse and there are a lot of options for him abroad.
Caulfield Cups and Japan Cups, things like that. We don't usually get many that like this sort of trip."

C Cup & Cox Plate noms close Tuesday so we will get a much clearer picture of who has the carnival in their sights

Interesting to see how Mount Athos goes with a new trainer.

Apparently Lloyd has purchased a lightly raced German Gp 2 winner, not sure whether its for this year or next?
Slightly unusual, must be running out of Aidan's cast offs

Luke Murrell reckons Almandin can win the Cox Plate, and he can be pretty scathing of other people's horses. But who knows, Lloyd may be focusing on next year - very hard to read the stable.

Some interesting noms for the CC in Hillstar and Protectionist. Both very well performed. Still a big question on whether they come out.

Ballyroan Stakes in Ireland on Thursday - another ballot exempt race for the CC.
