Yes jack martin.. Got pushed aside at least 10 times n watched the ball head the opposite end whilst on his ass..
Without the ball his pushes n tackles.. But when it comes to getting it... Gets knocked over..
Might be right size for neafl n seniors in w.a but not AFL :(

It appears the coaches have been seduced by all the hype and press that was unfairly placed on Jack.

I wonder if it might be time to rest Jack and give Jack Hutchins the same opportunity to prove himself.

Pretty good effort by the seconds against the GWS as the GCS had only 8 listed players. I wonder if any of these guys will be rewarded with a senior game.

By foot.. His averaging 2 kicks a game n 1 in every game is a gime from the goal line..
Rate his forward pressure tho... Just wish he didnt fall over like his playing in the world cup
Get as many games into Martin now. Playing him in the NEAFL won't develop him. I couldn't care less about this year apart from getting the boys as quickly as possible to 75+ games.

The poor listed GCS players must be looking forward to running out with 8-10 listed team mates this weekend!!!

I mean it's not like it's not the same at every other club. We actually have more players assigned to our NEAFL squad than anyone except GWS/UWS. Look at Casey and the Dees or Ballarat and North.

Besides age/size/experience/skill, the top up players do not train with the listed GCS players.

When competing against 22 well trained, experienced, older, bigger bodied players the result generally ends up being a one sided thrashing of the GCS.

Yes but look at how Box Hill operates in tandem w/ Hawthorn. Box Hill players are their own and then you have hawthorn players dropped or rehabbed thru them. Or how both Perth clubs rehab thru the same WAFL club up to this year (think they are getting their own WAFL listed clubs next season) or the Adelaide clubs and the SANFL.

If we simply ran our reserves players thru Southport we'd be fine.

AFL clubs prefer their own reserves side so that it is a seamless move from the reserves to the seniors.

The AFL "seconds" will also have listed players who are only eligible to play in the reserve grade competition. This allows for injuries to the listed/rookies, and means that the whole side is on the same page in relation to structures etc (winning is not the focus)

The problem with the GCS is they have to supplement their second side with "top up" players who are kids and in all honesty, not all are up to scratch.

Until the GCS can have "listed players" specifically to top up the reserves, the results and development will suffer.
