Any news on Aspley (aka Greater North Brisbane South Moreton Hornets) Damo?

Heard that a few Sandgate players may not make it past Graham Rd on their way to Burpengary. A change of coach and injection of funds may attract some back to the nest from the Hawks and Gorillas??

Brent Evans. Coached Aspley before the promotion to State League. Good player. Great guy. Not sure of coaching credentials outside of the stint at Aspley.

Not sure might be wrong but a lot of clubs tend to advertise for a new coach to see who's out there to do the job. Probably Gellie will re apply for the job and get a renewed contract.

So the poor bastard is supposed to sit there in limbo during the period hoping that no bloke who is considered "better" than him comes along. I know a few clubs do this, in their constitution etc but s**t practise imo, if indeed this is the case. You either want a guy to coach or you don't - not "yeah we do, unless someone better comes along of course"...

Its is a constitution thing. Its ridiculous, not only for the incumbent, but any prospective applicants who see it, maybe put some time and effort into putting something together when in reality there is no position to fill. Gellie signed for 3 yrs! Some clubs have old school people who like to run everything totally by the book when common sense should prevail!

Interesting read over the past 2 pages. Bit disappointed Angry Mango's idea didn't more traction. The Moreton Bay Mud Crabs would have been an awesome choice. They would have been "snapping at the heels of the competition" !!
