Why is there a SIX week gap between games at Spotless stadium? Is the stadium unavailable? Just as the Giants get some momentum with 2 wins at home, the have to wait SIX weeks for another home game in Sydney!?

Perils of the Easter Show. It started today ends on 23 April. While that means technically it is free footy for Round 6 or realistically round 7, it has been used for horses, grand parades and goodness knows what else. Then there's putting the lower bowl back in... Realistically you wouldn't want to be using the ground before the first weekend in May. Which is when we play Port.

We also have to play three games in Canberra. Because Easter was late this year we probably decided to play two games in Sydney early rather than playing Melbourne in Canberra. Doggies we play there for the PM's Cup anyway.

Which means we either play in Canberra in early May and then again later in the year or play in Sydney and then send a different game there in late May or June and then the third game sometime later.

Then there's the bye as well.

Not ideal but we only have two home games in the next six weeks anyway.

As the others have said, Easter Show. They didn't even have the lower levels of seating in for the Demons game, so kick to kick was moved up to the training oval because you couldn't get on to the field. It'll be the same every year - that's the hazards at playing where we're playing. In the future we could see ANZ Stadium used when we start getting bigger crowds. That's what happened last year, with our game against the Swans.
