Universal Love 2014 Wacky Wednesday

Remove this Banner Ad

May not be to everyone's liking, but for those of us who enjoy having a laugh with (& sometimes at ;)) the players during Mad Monday celebrations, it may be fun to have a thread where we can post pix and comments on the day.

We've traditionally been one of the better clubs with our Mad Mondays (as compared to teams like Melbourne-may have been too soon for Rolf Harris, or at least do it well if you're gonna take the gamble :D), so let's see what our players come up with this year.......

Won't have a chance to find or post pictures, damn work!, but will check in to see how the boys go with it this time round. Hope the standard doesn't slip without Scarlo involved.

It looks like it might be Wacky Wednesday this year - doesn't seem to be any information or pictures around for Mad Monday which seems strange for this time of the morning if they were participating today.

Damn having to wait until Wednesday, thought it may have given us a cheery start to the week :(.

Mods- winty Pure_Ownage etc....can you please change the thread title to Wacky Wednesday? Thanks :thumbsu:

Edit-title changed, thanks again.

I heard Tomahawk say on 3AW it will be Wednesday, as players are having "medicals" today.
Makes sense really. Tidy up all the stuff needing to be tidied up and then it's seeing off the season. Would be a pain having to go in 2 days after it for your interviews and things

Hurry up Wacky Wednesday then!

This was one of my all-time favourites, simple but pretty funny, not sure it can be topped-

Just quietly Ive never understood why a group of grown men want to do dress ups just to hang around with each other is a closed off pub. Its a tad odd when you think about it.

Carry on!
yeah i never understood the closed pub theory either.

nothing better then drinking piss with the boys when there's a few skirts around

Mmm maybe less chance of actual scandal? Or it's the whole "team bonding" mentality and then they can go off and party with ladies as much as they like for the next 4 months. Most of them are taken anyway.

Should they get a few strippers in the changerooms after the game to sing the song with them? Maybe Katich should have invited Lara Bingle into the rooms to sing Under the Southern Cross with the Australian Test players rather than putting Clarke in a choke hold?

You're bonding with the mates who have gone through 11 months of toil with you and you're doing it in a controlled environment, where relatively minor (though potentially embarrassing) incidents that are always going to happen in this sort of setting won't make it on the front page, due to some hero deciding to take some snaps with a camera phone. You can head out afterwards if you're keen for that sort of attention. During the day is for the players, and the players only. Simple as that.

Besides, the sheilas would be nagging you to go home from 11am onwards.
And you would only have had a dozen or so beers by then, anyway.

So is the same group standing in a circle after a win and singing the club song!

Do you bond any better over a few beers because you are dressed as a school girl?

A school girl? Not necessarily. But having a dress up is a great way to kick the day off in the right frame of mind, especially for the players from the 17 teams that weren't good enough to take out the premiership. All the hard work and pressure is over. Time to stop sooking about the way your season ended and just have a laugh at yourself and at your teammates, without anyone else, besides the players, being a part of it.
