Bains has some promise, beat the world number 93 in Hobart qualifying pretty easily as a 16 year old.At the moment and over the next few years mens tennis in Australia is/looks more promising than the womens side. Not much coming through apart from Barty.
Literally absolutely anything in the world could happen when Stosur plays, so I guess you could make that comment regarding her whole career!I just witnessed Sam Stosur save two match points and go on to win the match. In Australia.
Is this real life?
It was a great effort by Storm. So close. saved so many match points with great shots as well. just never gave up.
could this be a turning point for Sam in Aus??? must surely help banish some demons with the last 2 matches both going to 3rd set tie breaks.
Storm first set over Flipkens 6-4 . Been impressed with what i've seen.
The draw at the Aus open is very important too as Sam will be seeded 17 so if she gets through to the thrid round here are the following players Sam will not want to face.
Serena Williams
Victoria Azeranka
Maria Sharapova
Petra Kivitova
Jelena Jankovic
Sam will face 9-16 seeds in the 3rd round. Tbh, if she made it to the 3rd round that would be a success given how poor her record is
Did play much better today though
That is wrong mate. Sam could face anyone from the no.1 seed to no.16 seed.
Lol Sam.
