Bad loss. Think she will drop out of the top 25 after the us hard court swing.

She's defending a title from Carlsbad. She might be out of the top 25 next week. Again, she outdid the duval loss...

Losing to a 16 year old outside the top 400 is bad even by Sam's standards.

Always hard to know how bad the loss is when you lose to a young kid though. She might turn out to be an absolute gun. I'd be more willing to forgive that sort of loss than losing to some 100 ranked scrub that's been on tour 10 years and you know what she was facing.

By the time the Aus Open comes around Sam might be Australian #3 with Dellacqua up to 31 and Tomljanovic at 50 with nothing much to defend for the rest of the year.

Stosur took a wildcard into New Haven. Smart decision I think she has had two terrible draws so she needs some matches before next week. She plays Nara in the first round. Jovanovski/Bouchard waiting in the second round. Casey also playing there she plays Alison Riske.

Casey lost In straights sets. Sam won 7-6(5) 6-7(10) 6-2. Don't want to know how many MP's she had in the second set. Next up Bouchard who beat Joanovski 6-1 6-1.

That result from Sam shows why the match against Serena doesn't matter, didn't see it but I can imagine it certainly wasn't pretty. Just glad she got the win. Casey a bit out of form this swing.

Jarmila Gajdosova has made it through to the 3rd round where she'll face either Hantuchova or Van Uytvanck. Believe that puts back her inside the top 100 , which is a good effort given that she was ranked in the 300s not too long ago.

It's been a busy day for Women Tennis. Three events are ongoing in Asia, and the tournament in Guangzhou has been hit with an avalanche of upsets.

Stours, Cirstea, Jovanovski, Stephens, all gone.

Absolutely disgusting perfomance from Cirstea, if not a tank. Losing to Petra Matric who's been struggling with injuries all year and has been only collecting Grand Slam paychecks.

Sloane Stephens's terrible year continues. Lost to Soler Espinosa after having 1-0 40-0* in the third set.

In Tokyo, Errani lost to Erakovic after leading 4-0 in the first set. The Italian went on to lose 7 straight games, and faded quickly 4-6 1-6.

Sam lost to the world's no. 250-something... Eugh.

Nice win by Casey though in Tokyo (a premier event as well) beating Lisicki 6-2 in the third after Lisicki was serving for the match in the 2nd set.

Gajdosova beat Hantuchova as well and faces Wozinacki in the 2nd.

Miles away from Asia, in New-Mexico, Nicole Vaidišová has returned to professional tennis:) She defeated Sesil Karatantcheva in the first round of an ITF 75000 tournament. Faces Konta next. Gonna keep an eye on her progress.

She lost in 3 but hopefully she can keep doing well, always like a good comeback.

Cant belive Fox are showing this crappy tournament in China instead of Tokyo. Casey playing well up 6-3 serving for a 5-3 lead.

Yep, shows Fox don't give a s*** about tennis.

Well done, Barbora. Teach her some respect.
