Former Melbourne Victory defender Pablo Contreras collapsed mid-game while competing in a friendly match in Bolivia on Sunday.
The 37-year-old retired from professional football after leaving Victory at the end of the 2013/14 season but was competing in a five-a-side match between Chile and Bolivia in Santa Cruz.
The 67-time Chilean international went down off the ball and was immediately attended to by the players and paramedics.
Bolivian goalkeeper Pedro Higa was the first to reach Contreras, giving him mouth-to-mouth resucitation before the medics could enter the field.
It was initially reported that Contreras suffered a heart attack, but media reports out of Chile suggest it was not as serious as first thought.
Contreras is currently in a stable condition and will continue to be monitored.

No disrespect to Hume City, but we should soon be playing in another final.

They gave us a good run a few weeks ago, they where leading until Berisha went sick in injury time and we won 4-3

Might be a little different this time round considering it will be a competitive fixture and the match will be played at AAMI Park.

I'm sure we will win, but don't expecting it to be straight forward like City did to Heidelberg tonight.

Won't the game be played at Hume's home ground, as they are the "home" team?

Nope it was confirmed by Hume City that if they draw Victory in the semi's they will be happy to move the match to AAMI to maximize attendance and cash in themselves on the takings.

Then again the FFA may think otherwise but from all reports so far it will be at AAMI Park

If we play like we did against Adelaide, we are going smash Hume. Don't care who we play in the final, but beating City would in one would be sweet!

Defence depth is the issue. The back four and keeper are elite (A-League standard). If Ansell and Delpierre could play the bulk of the games together we'd be fine.

You think, most of last season one or both were injured for most of the season and we won the title. Yeah we had Leijer for most of it, but Gallifuoco fills that hole.
