For Geelong....

Play twice: Hawthorn, North, Fremantle, Gold Coast, Richmond

8 Simonds home games vs. Melbourne, North, Bulldogs, Fremantle, Port, Gold Coast, GWS and a 'big' club (Richmond/Carlton).

2 MCG home games vs. Hawthorn and Collingwood, with another at Etihad (opponent from Richmond, Carlton or Essendon).

We're also rumoured to be playing on Friday night at Simonds in Round 4, so if we face the Hawks again on Easter Monday that will mean 4 consecutive 6 day breaks to start the season.

Won't be us as we have a 16 game membership and will very likely get 6 trips interstate. Therefore those members would have to be allocated seats at Simonds Stadium, which is something Geelong will be unable to do.

I need more thoughts on what your team will be doing in 2015 so i can put them into my grand ol' fixture creation after the GF. :D

Please post them below :D

I'm in the process of doing a full season fixture and will post it up here once it is finished.

At the moment I've allocated who everybody is playing, I just need to work out rounds and timeslots (which will probably be harder ).

An important feature is that the traditional return matches amongst big 4 Victorian clubs are not all locked in. Some won't be happening under my fixture. Sometimes it's good to keep these fixtures special by playing them once a season.

Here's what I'd like to see for the Fremantle:
- No back to back 6 day breaks
- No 9 day breaks (except during the bye)
- A Sunday game before the bye and a Thursday or Friday night game after the bye
- Play Sydney at Perth (They have not been over there for 4 years)
- Avoid a trip to Tassie
- 3 games at the MCG
- A good spread of hard and easy games during the seasons, the last 2 years we have had patches of playing the top 6 teams in a row, followed by playing the bottom 8 clubs in a row.
- A Friday night\Saturday day game in round 22 to give us a good chance of playing a similar time in round 23 should we be top 4 again.
- 2 games in Adelaide (So I can watch them twice :) ) and less travel

It is.

Also some of these "big victorian matchups" didn't feature last year!

Noatbley Collingwood and Richmond and Geelong and Richmond and Richmond and Carlton didn't play eachother twice.

Richmond is the "black sheep" of the Big 4... return match ups for Richmond are not guaranteed.

It's really the Big 3 - Carlton/Collingwood/Essendon

Don't know if it's been mentioned already but Collingwood will likely be playing Brisbane at the Gabba in round 1.

It has been. If you have a look at one of my earlier posts i have you down for that matchup on the Saturday afternoon.

Interesting. Collingwood would probably want to be compensated if they didn't play those 2 other teams twice. Having said that they haven't always all played eachother twice.

How is that 4 consecutive 6 day breaks Happy Chappy? Unless you're planning on playing the following Thursday?

Sat down tonight and came up with these double ups for 2015

Adelaide- Fremantle, Port Adelaide, Richmond, Carlton, Brisbane (2,1,2)
Brisbane- Gold Coast, Adelaide, North Melbourne, GWS, West Coast (1,3,1)
Carlton- Essendon, Collingwood, Geelong, Gold Coast, Western Bulldogs (1,2,2)
Essendon- Carlton, Fremantle, Collingwood, Saint Kilda, Sydney Swans (2,1,2)
Collingwood- Carlton, Essendon, Hawthorn, West Coast, Gold Coast (1,2,2)
Fremantle- Geelong, Essendon, West Coast, Adelaide, Western Bulldogs (1,2,2)
GWS- Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Saint Kilda, Richmond (1,1,3)
Geelong- Hawthorn, Fremantle, Carlton, North Melbourne, Collingwood (3,1,1)
Gold Coast- Brisbane, Collingwood, Hawthorn, Saint Kilda, Port Adelaide (2,1,2)
Hawthorn- Sydney, Geelong, Port Adelaide, Gold Coast, Western Bulldogs (3,1,1)
Melbourne- GWS, Port Adelaide, Richmond, Carlton, Western Bulldogs (1,1,3)
North Melbourne- Brisbane, Hawthorn, Port Adelaide, Richmond, Geelong (3,1,1)
Port Adelaide- Sydney, Melbourne, Hawthorn, Adelaide, North Melbourne (3,1,1)
Richmond- North Melbourne, Adelaide, Saint Kilda, Melbourne, West Coast (1,2,2)
Saint Kilda- Gold Coast, Melbourne, GWS, Western Bulldogs, Essendon (1,1,3)
Sydney Swans- Hawthorn, GWS, Port Adelaide, Essendon, West Coast (2,2,1)
West Coast- Fremantle, Brisbane, Collingwood, Richmond, Sydney Swans (2,2,1)
Western Bulldogs- Fremantle, Saint Kilda, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Hawthorn (2,1,2)

I think that all those are reasonably accurate based on this years ladder. If a lower ranked team is playing 2 top sides then i have then playing two (15-18) place sides as well in most cases (i.e Western Bulldogs, play Fremantle and Hawthorn, as well as Saint Kilda and Melbourne)

So were playing the saints twice but their not playing us twice, ditto with GWS but reversed.

I had explained that at the bottom of the post. So on that system i think it all works out ok.
