Terrible performance from Eagles when it counted most but also Hawthorn just way too much talent all over the ground.

Cyril deserving of the Norm. Had earned it by late in the 3rd. I stopped watching after that, but by then the game was signed and sealed and he had been the player who grabbed the momentum when it mattered.

He was good, but Smith was much much better and for longer.

So many similarities to our game against the Hawks.

Like us, Eagles didn't take their chances and were sloppy with their skills.

And like against us, the Hawks were exquisite and punished every mistake. Eagles actually had a few chances to get back in it but couldn't convert. Hawks converted. At the end of the day, that's the only difference that matters.

Probably the best skilled side I have seen. So good in traffic and under pressure.

We can't carry anyone in our team whose skills aren't top notch. You know the usual suspects. How many time do hawthorn handball to feet? How many dead in front shots do the skew? How many kicks in their back contest go to a 1 on 2? Very very few. They are smart and well drilled.

Our boys, especially our defense and midfield, should watch the Hawks past 3 games all Summer because if we want to win a flag, we have to execute like that.

This Hawthorn mob simply step up to the plate, make very few errors and always seem to make the right decisions in the big games. This game was a repeat from Hawthorn's last 2 games. Applied pressure, capitalized on the turnovers, gained momentum and confidence, put the opposition to the slaughter in a way that makes them drop their heads, weathered the obligatory after half time storm from the opposition, breaks the opposition's hearts, all step up to get involved and score the early kill, enjoy themselves for most of the last quarter.

Red Card to Roughead for stealing one of Cyril's goals early in the last quarter.
