best clearance player in the comp gone for 2015
Nope, got through our intra-club match fine and should be primed for another great year after being our best mid in the grand final.

1st for total clearances in 2011
1st for total clearances in 2012
1st for total clearances in 2013
3rd for total clearances in 2014 (down year)

Daw is playing for North? what happened to the alleged rape trial?
The trial is still going to take place, Norf just lack the integrity to suspend him

That is really surprising to hear.

Well until the 90's there wasn't much else as an option team wise, and local footy was huge, but the big close gig was VFL and they were followed strongly for generations like VIC supporters. Plus like my family, members moved back and forward and adopted teams and came back to tassie staunch.

Nice to see he didn't end up going back to Melbourne.
It would have opended the flood gates for other players to leave.

I'm very skeptical that Cameron would have stayed for 5 years for only $4M with the money thrown at Boyd.
The AFL must be throwing him a sweetener in the way of marketing money to take up any 'slack' because if he went, then the AFL would have no second team in Sydney with many others following the exodus.

Geez we really f....d the AFL over by getting Buddy!
That's why they banned us from trading.

You can't compare the Boyd deal. The money the Dogs offerered a 9 game player was reckless but they had to do it to get a key forward.

How many Vic clubs could afford to offer Cameron the same deal as Boyd?

Giants have a salary cap like everyone else and they have a strong list of young guys who will start to command serious $$$ in the next few years so Cameron took less cash for succes? Maybe Cameron will pick up an marketing role like Falou..... Then you really could say the AFL has done one over everyone else!

So apparently Carlton have asked for AFL assistance. Who would have thought 20 years ago that our membership numbers would be comparable to one of the so-called 'big 4' clubs.

True never thought I would see the day, however Carlton have long relied on the Pratt's and Mathieson's of the world funding them to cover any short fall in sponsorship and membership (membership being an area they have never successfully grown or had a good retention rate). As the article points out they are able to cover the decrease in "sponsorship" coming from the Pratt family via Visy with other sponsors but Trigg didn't expect to find the membership department to be, well non existent basically hence the early advance of their AFL distribution which happens with all clubs around this time of year. Expect that improves over the next 12 months because the Mathieson's aren't going to around forever at their funding level and pokies as Carlton are well aware aren't yearly goldmines and that's where a good membership department comes in.
