Oh and the Footscray VFL team actually hurt the senior team,I guess we lost at least 1000 members that were happy to just go to Whittten oval and watch that instead of the seniors. A lot of the older fans told me they didn't go anymore coz they love Whitten oval and the seniors were horrible to watch.
The kids point and getting the players to go out and give to the community a bit more are both excellent ideas honestly.

Just on this Whitten Oval point, it's honestly not just the older fans. I still went to a lot of games at Etihad, but at Whitten Oval the experience is just so much better. And that's a slight on the commercialisation and de-humanisation that has happened to the AFL.

And yes the horrible game style we were playing wasn't helping. The gospel according to Bev looks like we're going to be playing a much more entertaining style, which should help on that front.

Tommy, I think that graph might look a little better if you remove the 2015 dot on Feb-07. Cause you have used today's number (Feb-02) for that value.

That wouldn't make it a LOT better, mind you! But better.
Ahhhhhh, thank you. Yes, I had not noticed that. Oh well. I think it will make it better. Cheers.

I must admit I more often than not don't go to the game when the dogs come to the West. I do enjoy watching the Dogs in Melbourne, but It would be nicer if we had more fans and thus a better experience. We should start chanting songs or something. Do something very unique. I love going to WAFL games, and fans of my club have started chanting songs that are more traditionally heard at soccer matches. I think there's a lot of Glory fans who also support the Swans which helps that aspect. Easier said then done, but it would be great to have some unique aspect to our fans.

Nice idea Mattdougie but it has been done before giving out free tickets to games etc. I think like you said they need to follow up and convert these people to members. More engagment and hook the kids and parents in.

I really think Ballarat could be the winner for us. Its an untapped market. Just behind Geelong in population, still growing. It might take us 10 years but there is potential to gain 5k 3 game members and 5k 11 game members. Train to Southern Cross is only 1 hour 20 mins from Ballarat. This could push our membership up to 45k. Apart from that, best way to gain members is to be winners.

Can someone do me a huge favour and take a pic of the members polo and scarf you get for the extra $50. Really want a polo but not sure if I should just get the normal one or not. Cheers.

Clearly doesn't realize there is a club website where you can get both.

While this is true - there is a lot to be said for the "impulse buy" factor...

Get people while they are excited and face to face with the club/players - and the point about having merchandise to sign is also spot on.

Incredibly short-sighted for mine. The whole point of the exercise is to promote the club - yet no capacity to actually capitalize on this there and then? Amateur hour stuff.

Can anyone explain to me why you can't sign up all online including the payment. Seems strange to me

My cat, Lily, was thrilled that I got this email from Luke:

To the parent/guardian of Lily,

My first OAK Dahlhaus Clubhouse Clinic is coming up on Monday, March 30 and I noticed Lily is yet to sign up as a member for 2015 to ensure they can come along for a fun day with me and my team mates.

This fantastic clinic will give them the special chance to train with us at our home, Victoria University Whitten Oval, score some awesome giveaways and get autographs from their favourite players.

As a member of my Clubhouse there is no extra cost to attend one of the clinics but you do have to be a 2015 member.

To sign up for 2015, click the button below or call the membership team on 1300 46 36 47 during business hours, Monday to Friday who will also be able to register you for the clinic.

Get in early as places for the clinic will be limited and I look forward to seeing you on the day and at the footy in 2015.

Go Dogs!

Luke Dahlhaus
Player #6

Lily will sign up again as a member, but will be unable to make the clinic.

Lily was determined to end her membership at the end of last season and, in fact, was going to join the Tigers(to spite me), but the changes at the club in October convinced her to remain a loyal Bulldog cat. (Well that and I threatened to hide her catnip.)
