The_Wookie, if you're using the club's final figures for 2014 memberships, I remember in some St Kilda membership letter or email, they said they wanted to thank the 31,134 members.

I think the AFL's official figures for St Kilda was something like 30,800 but I don't have a source.

im going off the AFL total membership figure which is closer to the June 30 figure than the July 31 figure from club websites.

The Power will open membership sales at the start of next month. All of the club’s 55,715 members will get renewal notices. Registrations among new members jumped yesterday afternoon after the Power and Bombers sealed the Ryder trade with two draft picks (17 and 37) exchanged for the 26-year-old ruckman-forward.

The Power has logged 2738 registrations for new memberships in the first fortnight in October. This is a massive lift on last year’s count of 141 new memberships in the same two-week period.

Pies at 49,270

When you see figures like that you wonder how it took so long for clubs to implement Auto Renewal on memberships. The time and energy you would have spent chasing up those members can now be put to much better use in getting new members.

Also, I won't deny that seeing our membership total after one day exceed Carlton's official tally from the whole of last year isn't immensely satisfying. :D

in hindsight its baffling isn't it

I know talking to RFC membership they say the auto renewals have had a huge factor in minimizing the churn rates that used to plague all clubs.

Are you claiming the Pies have the money in the bank or suggesting a great paper shuffle?
