The Lions turned it over too much, both by hand and foot. They had plenty of big blokes but not enough good mids to get it through the middle of the ground and into 50 with advantage. Keays could find the ball but turned it over plenty by foot. A bit of a worry.

Hipwood looks like a giant rake but was marking everything. Supply was poor but the kid looked good. Would not be surprised if Hipwood gets a draft bid before Keays.

Adding Hipwood plus Weitering/Schache to Harris Andrews and the other young talls the Lions have now and there is no shortage of top end key position potential at the Gabba.

Big Garlett fan, hope he gets a gig soon. Did you notice Reuben William for them? African lad who plays off half back. Saw he had 11 marks but only 15 touches. Dan Gorringe play ruck? 14 & 2 goals.
 
Gotta give it to Garlett , the time off he has had he has really bulked up and WILL be a player for us , will play in the next week or 2 for sure and be a mainstay in our forward linwe next year. I hope the club just leaves 2MP in the reserves for now despite his good performances , the kid can really play the only thing lacking is a summer in the gym.

Reuben William was very good in the first half then seemed to fade a lot. There were a lot of short kicks out of the back 50 and he was running to space and getting a few of them. But there is something there to work with.

Zac Smith was in the ruck most of the day, with 2MP playing in the ruck in the 4th quarter with Smith at full forward. Gorringe was playing forward/mid so covering a bit of ground.
 
We should be competitive , going in with 12 listed players , and a few of our gun kids in Scheeer , Spencer , Budarick and Joyce.
