We're back again.
For those new to the board, the Spud Shield is an award voted for by the posters of the NMFC board.
Before every game, every week, nominate a player from the opposition who you believe is, by definition, a "spud", yet has the ability to dominate North from the outset and potentially win their team the game.
For examples, check last year's thread for a conclusive list.
The scoring process is simple - any player nominated will have their statistics checked post-game and a points total will be assigned based on the following system:
The points are awarded as follows:
Every kick: 5 points
Every handball: 3 points
Every goal: 10 points
Every mark: 3 points
Every tackle: 6 points
If player was sub, multiply total by 1.5
If player was making debut, multiply total by 1.5
If player was subbed, multiply total by 1.5
If player was not born in Australia, multiply total by 1.5
If player's every kick was a goal, add 100 Perrie points
For example, Sam Kerridge won last year with this game:
Round 13 vs Adelaide (36 point loss)
Sam Kerridge 4 kicks (20) 5 handballs (15) 4 goals (40) 1 mark (3) 0 tackles (0) +100 EVERY KICK WAS A GOAL = 178 Perrie points
He also won in 2013 with this game:
ROUND 9 VS ADELAIDE
Sam Kerridge: 14 kicks (70), 12 handballs (36), 6 goals (60), 8 marks (24), 1 tackle (6) = 196 Perrie points
Anyway. A bit of fun. Nominate your players for Round 1 in here.
As always, this thread was originally the idea of MC_Forward50 and all praise is due to him.
