Squiggle tips Saints at 51% chance -- What's your tip? -- Team line-ups »
Leuy has had an injury flare up with his achillies which if i remember so he missed almost a whole season with before with an achillies injury.
The 'lock' might not just be that locked.
Expected to return in 2-3 weeks with training which to me tells me its just soreness. However a strong reminder of buyer risk with him.
With Bellchambers banned and Luey injured Nyoun looks like a good rookie to have on the bench
Wouldn't go Nyoun TBH. Reckon they would play Mckernan solo. Unlike mids, an under developed ruck can not learn in the AFL.
I am thinking about:
R: Blicavs, S.Martin
On my radar: C.Sinclair (Had some good games last year for West Coast and has more responsibility at the swans), T.Campbell (Good pre-season could be the bulldogs no.1), Lobbe (Port have no other options but not convinced) & M. Gawn.
Luey would be on my radar as a forward, with an interchange option to the ruck.
Thats an expensive ruck setup with limited upside.
Just think Leuy has to be a deadset lock now. Mckernan is 2nd option as u mentioned and plays forward anyway with Leuy in the side.
Nuyon is next available. Reckon he only plays if both are out.
Many things can be done when/if he gets injured.Guaranteed Points.
There are only 2 rucks starting on the field, you dont need to make money there. In the Mids & Fwds especially this year, there is a lot of money to be made.
In addition, what are you going to do when Luey gets injured? cop a donut? cop a 30 from a bench player if you have one playing.
If you select Luey in the forwards, with a bench rck/fwd you will be able to use him as ruck reserve and if he gets injured have rookies like M.Brown, C.Petrecca etc... to cover for him
How well did Luey & Belly work for everyone last year
Nuyon is next available, now but when the top ups arrive he wont be (Essendon top ups are going to be fantasy gold). Personally, I cant see Nuyon playing next year regardless. he has as much chance of competing in the ruck as Bellchambers has of playing this year. He physically is not ready.
Many things can be done when/if he gets injured.
Sideways trade to someone if adequate player ia available
Upgrade him to a fallen premium through downgrading someone else to a rookie.
Switch him forward and aideways swap in a premi ruck or anyone with a forward that you see best
Many things can be done when/if he gets injured.
Why not make money and value all over the ground - why limit yourself to 2 positions?
So risky to have both these guys possibly the 2 most injury prone rucks going and they have injuries that dont go away ie more managedI have mumford and Luey all but locked. If Luey has an injury cloud maybe im not so locked after all.
Currently im considering the combo of Stef and Lobbe or Lobbe and Leuey. I would feel safer going the first one but it chews up a lot of money.
I think they doDo people realize that Goldstein is cheaper than Martin in AFL Fantasy
I think they do
but.. Martin avg 112 the year before aswell so he has a few extra runs on the board IMO he feels safer.
Surprised at so many peoples strategy, Leuy has proven year after year he cant be relied onto to finish a season with 18+ games, and score heavily enough in those games, bar his break out season, to justify the pick. I didn't get the Goldy/Martin combo in at all last year and it cost me every week. They both averaged more than 16 ppg better than then third placed "ruck" Blicavs, who is essentially a MID. There is rarely money to be made in the Ruck division, Lobbe has now piqued my interest, but atm both Martin and Goldy are in my team.
